Stoptech Big Brake Kit for A6's, S4, S6, allroads etc

Having a garage clearout and need to sell this old brake conversion kit that I took off my old allroad. It's a Stoptech Big Brake conversion with the ST-40 4-pot caliper (fundamentally one of these http://www.stratmosphere.com/stoptech_a6_brakes.htm). It's a Porsche monoblock type caliper, so Porsche pads and brake warning light switches all fit.

I had the kit on 2 cars - a diesel allroad on 17's where I fitted 332mm discs, and a 4.2 allroad with 18's and hence the 355mm discs. There are caliper mounting brackets for both.

The calipers are in fine shape and just need cleaning, the discs are used but with plenty of life left (particularly the 355's), but the caliper brackets for the 355mm discs are corroded and I would recommend replacing them. The 332mm brackets are fine.

These will fit the V6 engined S4's (B5s?), most C5 A6's (S6 and allroads for sure) and are very good brakes. And with a suitable caliper bracket, could also be engineered to fit a heap of other vehicles. I have a set of new Pagid RS4.4 Orange pads to go with the kit.

As they've been sitting around since I sold the last allroad (2007) they are not exactly shop-fresh, so am not looking for much money for them. Parts are located near Guildford, in Surrey.

£300, ideally collected (plus posting costs if needed). Kit cost $2000 new...

Please PM me if interested.

Thanks,
Phil

Niall Wallace - can you PM me your email address, as I seem unable to reply via the PM setup myself for some reason.

Thanks,

Phil

Hmmm, checked - all looking fine (less than 10% full for Inbox - 32% Sentbox). Have mailed the List Owners....

So Niall - please either post me a contact email here or try to PM me the same again, as I seem to be able to receive. Actually I have been able to sent outbound to 2 other people OK today - david7m above for example.

Weirdness....

Thanks,

Phil

Niall Wallace - one last attempt to get a hold of your proper email address, as my PM outbound is pretty much shagged for some reason. I am trying to stick with you as the first person to respond, but I cannot get info back to you without an email address. Inbound PMs seem to work for me, but unless I can correspond properly, we're getting nowhere.

Please get back to me today if at all possible, as I have a string of people after these brakes.

Many Thanks,
Phil

Sold to the second chap who responded, as I could not get a hold of Niall again - just trying to be fair.

Thanks for all the responses folks - sorry to only have one set to sell!

just offer what you think they're worth.
you may not want or need the whole package.
and also, i may not be able to sell the whole package.
and the best offer may be a lot less than the buy-it-now price.

i bought these in good faith, with the plan to fit to my wife's A6 and possibly use in the future on a diesel A4.
however i have contemplated my situation over the past 6 months and my plans have changed

hence i am offering these to a wider audience, on an open basis.

i dislike intensely being contacted by ebay from a whining person trying to physically and morally tell me his right to these parts, when obviously R1NGA went out of his way to be fair on the original sale.
i have offered to sell him the components he needs for his car and wheel combination at a fair price, but i have had no response.

please ignore the rants of this man.

please

i made you fair offer did i not, isnt that true? why are you hell bent on making a huge profit on these?

my first message to you stated clearly that i understood fully they were your property to do with as you wished, did it not?

you show me, from prior correspondense between ourselves, where i claimed a "right" to these parts.

You are not getting a penny of my money, i just want to expose you for the money grabber that you are. I think i have succeeded.

As i said already, if you think you are justified in your actions, why didnt you advertise the parts here and give first refusal to your fellow enthusiasts, friend?????

I dont want to drag the original seller into this, but taking into consideration his side of the story, im sure you would retract that pointless statement, unless of course, you are sticking up for your mate?

Just making an observation and expressing my opinion, much like yourself.

Oh and I don't know the seller. He'll get what they are worth, good luck to him. Make him an offer, you may get lucky?
