2005 BMW E61 525d sport touring - high spec/remap/mods

Post by chesney » Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:08 am

Got this up for sale on PHeads and as I was thinking about an RS6 avant for hopefully around the same kind of price.

Its a very good spec for a BMW and the mods have made it a far better car to drive.

Looking for 13k for it. Gets 45mpg which is pretty good for its size. Also handles like something half its size!!

Now added a 12 month warranty from Warranty Direct. It is the more expensive full cover option PLUS thats been upgraded so you can take the car to franchised BMW dealers if prefered.

Got this on ebay if anyone want to treble their MPG!!

Also have an RS500 intercooler which I was going to fit to it which should release another 20bhp. Was holding this off in case it doesn't sell but can be fitted. Its 5 times the size of the std one!

your link to pistonheads doesn't work - can you put up a new link. ta.

i'm just window shopping at the moment, but an E61 is my top choice for a quick family motor if i need to do more miles - currently working only 6 miles from home so the rs6 does just nicely.. :)

I've taken this off Ebay and Pistonheads now as I was fed up with timewasters.

Got the car back last week with its new hybrid turbo and its going faultlessly. Sounds much healthier than it ever has.

I'll leave this ad on here as I would be tempted by a part exchange on an rs6 Avant if anyone has any interest in 45mpg!!! Yes 45mpg from it on the drive back from Glasgow to Aberdeen in the snow so a lot was not in top gear!

Has also had an extra fully synthetic BMW approved longlife oil service and a new air filter. So now nearly 20k til the next service.

Eventually sold and now its either an rs6 avant or 535d sport touring.

Will consider any rs6 avant as long as it has black leather and well cared for bodily and mechanically. Wife doesn't like the lighter interiors so they are def off the list.

Yeah there are a few good ones just now. Will need to see. I would quite fancy calum's car but its just a bit too much for me after reading his post. and he's had a hard enough time of it without me sticking a low offer in!

There are a couple of low mile ones nearer my budget so will see what comes of them. Was dissapointed I missed out on mattlers too as that would have been ideal.

I have a few weeks before 'having' to buy so there's time to think over all the options and I don't want to rush in to a car like this and end up with the wrong one!
