all depends on what laptop it is realy

Packard Bell Easynote, AMD Athlon 2600+, 512mb RAM, Windows XP, CD writer, and a wireless card.
Bought it Nov 05 so just over 3 yrs old.
Works fine but does get hot if left on your lap for a while, though a good friend of mine bought a top of the range laptop which has exact same problem, but fine for a desk !

what size hard drive ?

reading total size as 35gb, must have been sold at 40gb, 19gb free as we speak, keep all music on external drive.
oh its MS Office also

make me an offer mate, was not looking to sell, but have been thinking of getting a netbook as only really use the net

If it's just something to Vagcom your car, i've got a Compaq Evo NV1015V with 30GB HDD. It's actually a very capable machine and was a good spec when it was new (came with JBL speakers). The battery doesn't hold charge for very long (<30 mins) but if you're using it in the car you can get a charger for under £10 off eBay.

Could even throw in a genuine Ross-Tech serial cable and serial port PCMIA card if the price is right, but you'd need to buy a software license ($100 I think) for up to version 409.1.
