hire a mini bus, it would probably be cheaper and less wear on your lovely looking car mate
Can't beat a bit of boost!

If only we weren't an ocean away (and damn near an entire continent too, since I'm in Arizona) you could borrow mine.

This setup usually resides on my wife's Scoobie (cargo box only when needed, otherwise stored in the garage) but I had to use it to transport our 2 Labs, home PC, clothes and a ton of other stuff when moving from TX to AZ recently. Very handy. Image

I guess I could take my car up to its max speed for a stretch heading toward the Atlantic, then slam on the brakes and launch that sucker! Tweaky should have it in a week or so.

Hi Tweaky, it may be a bit late for you, but I have a roofbox you are welcome to borrow.

You'll need to drive up to Sheffield to pick it up and drop off, but it's there if you want it. Sorry, my roofbars are for the current A4 saloon, but I'll gladly swap cars for the period of your holiday if you have an RS4

Another alternative is to try The Roofbox Company. You can rent bars and boxes from them, and they even post the things down to you.

PM me on Tyresmoke (s4dreamer) if you want to take me up on the offer of the box.
