Hi guys, my pride and joy for the last 5 years is up for sale. I don't want to sell it, I want to hoard it but we just haven't the room. I guess I need a bigger house. If I could get it into the loft I would do! Anyway, it's on eBay, but someone (Carl?), got in touch via eBay and suggested I mentioned it here. I presume someone might appreciate the heads up. The sale's at:

I genuinely believe it's one of the best examples you'll find for the money, especially in that colour and with all the extras. Many S4s on eBay seem to be over 100k and you'd think, reaching the end of their life. This one, at less than 60k has years in it yet. I've had it 5 years and it's been obsessively looked after in that time - which I guess is part of the reason I don't want to let it go. As the description says, it's got more extras than an S4 normally has. Both cruise control (factory fitted), and Sat Nav Plus (fitted by myself), I don't think I've ever seen on an S4 and the latter is rare even on an RS4. It's not been chipped or stressed in any way - I'm a gentle driver most of the time, I just enjoy blowing away the cobwebs now and again!

I've now got an RS6. Is it better? In many ways of course it is, but then again in many ways no. The S4 isn't as thunderously quick as the RS6 on a big open road, but it's sharper off the line and more nimble around A and B roads and it feels more sure-footed. I think that the new RS4 is perhaps the ideal blend of the two.. but you try telling that to my wife...

Oh, I hope a link to an eBay ad isn't breaking rules, I guess an admin can just delete this post if so?

Thanks, Andy

Well it's an auction so I can't really put a specific price on it. There's no reserve, but I put the starting bid at just under £10k. No bids as yet and it ends Monday night, so I guess it may well actually go for £10k!

Andy, I also have a low mileage noggy S4 avant but always like to see what other people have. I would appreciate it if you could let me have any details about the sat nav plus that you installed or may be if the car has not gone yet and you have the original unit you might be open to an offer on the sat nav?
