Have to agree with Simon, for a WR asking 10K  - It would have to be a mint, concours condition, standard as the day it left the factory model....

Good luck with the sale though

Sure its is a nice car and sure you have improved in many areas on the original, however quattros are now only worth the money when they are original and unmolested.

A good example is the short wheel base conversions that Dialynx did a while ago. The cars have had tens of 1,000`s spent but are worth very little in comparison to a nice low mileage early wr or a mint 20v.

Hi Dave, Yes it was me!!! I now have a nagaro blue Rs2, so keep an eye out! ( its <beep> compared to the quattro).

And to everyone else- I have tried to get across just how nice my UR is.
Its not a thursty, slow, wanky WR!!!
As the add says it can all go back to standard look, as for 10 valve mechanical fuel injection junkies, try shove one up your arse!! because thats all they are good for!!!!!!

Don't start about the Dialynx shorties, some very nice early cars when Alered was in charge.

As usual, nob heads seem to have nothing construtive or origional to say.
"no don't modifie it-it's much better standard" BORING!!
What good is my add going to do now??? Good luck with the sale??!!Tw*t!!

Rob F****ng bouncing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

surely the car is worth what people are willing to pay for it. Good luck Rob, I hope you sell if for a decent amount!

We need some guidelines on these ads as I see this happening more and more on forums where people are trying to sell things. :(

A further example how older cars are affected by originality...
Would you buy a Triumph Stag with a rover V8? It was common to change the engine as the oe unit was poor, it now has gone full circle.

I have a number of ur quattros and have sold many.
My personal fav is a 86 with a larger MB engine fitted. I know it is worth peanuts in comparison to my mint 84.

Constructive advice/debate?

Yes, I do recall having seen the same thing happen on a brembo brakes group buy thread too Sita!

Rob, not meaning to slate your car here - as you have said you have had it for 11 years and personalised it a great deal - so it will mean a lot to you. Sorry for hijacking your 'For Sale' thread - the problem with these discussion forums is you get carried away and start discussing (everywhere)! - no malice was intended mate. (No need to get so agressive though - this is not exactly autotrader here)

LOL, nothing like a bit of spirited discussion...

Talking of issues with the "For Sale" section, what do you guys think to this? http://www.rs246.com/modules.php?op=mod ... file=index

Please reply to the new thread, I think this one has enough noise ;)
