Wanted: RS4 ECU and Stage 1 Chip

I'm looking for a Cheap! 2nd ECU for my RS4.
Preferably with Stage 1 already mapped onboard (MTM would be perfect !), but not necessary.
My current ECU is # 8D0 907 551 Q. So, it will need to be the same.
Why ? Cause i want to be able to swap in and out as needed for warranty reasons.
PM me

If I see another I'll let you know.
Good luck. BTW, make sure it maches your engine type... ASJ vs AZR.

Arg ! Never Mind.
I notice that was a "F", and mine is a "Q". Anyone know if they are cross compatible ?
I know the RS4 came in ASJ (EU2), and AZR(EU3), is this the Q and F difference ?

I think you will find the NZ Audi Distributor more than willing to help - the last time I spoke he was also the MTM Distributor, but it wasn't yesterday and it might have changed.
Your reason for wanting another ecu sucks, as your list name is kiwi_mtm you are giving both New Zealand and MTM a bad name. Cheating on warranties is not clever.

I'm not cheating on any warranty. Thats an unfair statement. I never have. I will use the full use of the warranty though. NZ has no local VAG tuners, i want the ability to troubleshoot my own issues, and i believe its is a good idea to have the ability to rollback any mods. I had my A4 with a MTM Stage 1, and got frustrated with lack of local support. I wont even mention about trying to talk to overseas tuners, they wern't interested either. Thus my approach this time, where i can send it off as needed for remaps. Thats if i go beyound a stage 1 (i dont plan too at this stage, but then again, never say never). I want to maintain my stock ECU as a benchmark that i can return too.
To buy a stage 1 MTM off EMD (NZ's MTM agent), its NZ$8,000! Thats allot of $. In addition, i need to feel comfortable it will work with our fuel, as MTM and others have had trouble here before. I need a reliable car, thus my approach.
I have no idea who the MTM distributor you refer to is.

its not an unfair statement -
i quote from your first email
"Why ? Cause i want to be able to swap in and out as needed for warranty reasons. "
they are your words, not mine!

Isn't the immobiliser going to be an issue? - Revo offer an Immobiliser Defeat service.
Also, why not get a switchable program? - i.e. AmD, APR, Revo, etc....

If you wish to extract my true reasons from a snap comment, then so be it. But you might want to think twice before forming an impression, and making harsh personal statements.

How do you mean Phil. ?
Will a 2nd ECU not just plug in and go ? or is it Serial Numbered to the Ignition Keys ?
Excuse my technical ignorance.

I think the ECU is programmed to the dash.... Not a matter of plug and play AFAIK. In fact Revo built a second ECU for testing on Andy's car, and that was only possible after the immobiliser defeat.

Phil's right in that it is linked to the car's dash. Tuners can now get around this as suggested.

We know what your TRUE reasons are, you stated them at the outset.
Seeing as you are in a business that issues warranties, your cavalier attitude to cheating on warranty issues becomes a matter of legitimate interest.
Furthermore, your statement "you might want to think twice before forming an impression" is open to a variety of interpretations.

Quite franky mate, i take offence to your statements. You attempt to challenge my integrity, something i hold as very important. You no nothing of me. For the sake of the goodwill on this site, i'll exit the conversation now, before i really get wound up.
