This is the set that was for sale here...

http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=46355

now split up and for more money...

I was very interested in them, but the wheels are replicas and I am unsure as to whether they could handle the power of the RS4, especially with the spacers required to make them work.

Firstly the alloys do not require spacers to make them work. Secondly the assumption that because the alloys are replica's means that they may nit be able to handle the power of an rs4 is bull****. I am willing to split the wheels and tyres because the size of the tyres are very specific to the rs4 and would be ideal for someone who needs new rubber for their 19's. The wheels on their own would fit several models inc: A4, S4, A6, A8, new A3, new Golf, and most merc 's. 07786 194689 for more info.

Thanks for clearing that up mate...

As you say, the tyres are indeed a bargain price for new 19" rubber

What are the offset etc of the rims, please can you give actual sizes.

When we spoke you said you had some MTM spacers you would throw in with the wheel/tyre combination for £1K. Do we not need these to make them fit the RS4 ?

Did they come off an RS4 ?

I was looking at a set on ebay with Toyos........

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 10105&rd=1

I asked the seller if they were suitable for an RS4 and he replied that he would not recomend it as he was unsure if the wheels could handle the power.

I have asked the question in a nother thread - but as yet, have had no response.

If someone can confirm that Replicas would be fine and that the wheels you have will fit without spacers then I am still interested at £1K.

Apologies if I offended, I am just trying to clear up a few issues that I think are really important.

19" wheels and tyres

Post by poshtaxi » Thu Jun 10, 2004 2:22 pm

Yeah the wheels and tyres have come off an rs4 which i owned for a grand total of nine weeks. long story short; About a month into owning the car I spent a fortune on the 19's and chose these particular tyres after reading postings from others on this site. At this time the brake discs had been replaced because the dealer I bought the car from sold me the car with warped front discs! So much for the quality checks from the workshop! Spent £400 on anti car-jack shatter proof film for the driver and pass. windows, £300 tracker and parking sensors for when the girlfriend wanted a go! obviously if i owned a crystal ball and could only have seen the problems in advance i would'nt even have filled the damn thing with millers and optimax never mind spending £1500.00 on 19's as the next thing to go wrong was the clutch. Dealer replaced clutch but the Phd mechanic botched the job - an hour after i collected the car the car would'nt stay in gear with the stick springing back to neutral! Towed back to dealer and then a month later more gear box problems. :x :x

Yupp! Yeah got a load of 'urm to torture myself just before I gave it to the dealer. Give me a call on the mobile no. above if you're local. I'm a bit of a pleb when it comes to computers and would'nt know how to submit the photos. The wheels are 8x19" which is why I got the spacers which by the way are the business! These are'nt just rings which go over the hub they are £170.00 worth of MTM 30mm spacers with longer bolts. Got the reg. for sale too; Y4 RS4 (A) £500 no offers!

Not sure why he would say that but I find that you could ask several 'guys' and experts the same question and you would get several different answers! I am not trying to be smart when I say that. I got the wheels and tyres from Wheelbase near Chadderton, Oldham. I know I did'nt have a problem with the wheels at all in fact they were a massive improvement over the notorious original and stronger version of the 18's which I need say no more! I think you have to read between the lines with so many things of this nature. I got used to this after reading posts from owners here and then listening to Audi and their explanations into why they do things and the reasoning into choosing one type of component over another. How do you grade alloy material and decide if that used in a replica is stronger or weaker than the I dare say it - the 'original'?? Off to work for a while so will see if any posts in a few hours.

I guess from this that you wouldnt recommend SKF at Stockport. I actually spoke to them about your car (I think) before Bank Holiday weekend, and obviously they didn't mention about any problems. Cited the car as an excellent example!

'The wheels on their own would fit several models inc: A4, S4,' - are you sure my friend?

Last time we tried an RS4 wheel on a B5 S4 the offset was too great, so if it fitted an RS4 before , a spacer would need to be taken off the wheel to fit a B5 S4.......
