Car does seem a bit pricey to me. I recently sold my 2003 '53' plate Avant with 65k on the clock for a tad over 16k. It had coilovers fitted by unit 20 and was immaculate. I started off asking 17k but learnt the hard way that anybody with this sort of budget allways wants to haggle hard! If you check autotrader you can now buy Merc e55's at 15k on an 04 plate with about 50k on the clock!
M5's are also now becoming available at late teens to early 20's and many people see these as a better bet!

Just a thought gents would the vendor of the M5 your after consider taking Dunc's S4 in as a part exchange ?

Is there another M5 owner/trader who's happy to play ball ?
