You're absolutely right Dunc. The old 'first to see will buy' line would certainly apply!chunky79 wrote:Have you had anyone look at it yet?karl wrote:I have had 1299 views of this post and yet, still, the car remains unsold. I can only put it down to a very slow market out there at the moment.
It truly is a stunning example.
I had the first person round yesterday, offered me asking price straight away but has now had to pull out today cause his didnt sell.
I think they would sell if only people would come and view them.
Good luck

I couldn't do that to it; I know what you're saying that it could put people off but if they tried a standard RS4 and then tried mine with the upgrades then they would be sold. I can't disrobe my beauty, it's just not cricket is it?!MB2 wrote:Have you considered swapping the parts back to std - sure someone would give you a fair bit back on the brakes & exhaust ? Whilst as an owner I think the mods are good I wonder if they are putting non owners off ?
Fair enough, I just know from selling bikes everyone wants a std bike then they put a load of stuff straight on it - if you put your car back to std you could then sell all the bits to the same person later via classifieds - stupid I know but I think you may get a wider audience with a standard car as are restricted to those that aren't worried about modified car/insurance etc. at the momentkarl wrote:I couldn't do that to it; I know what you're saying that it could put people off but if they tried a standard RS4 and then tried mine with the upgrades then they would be sold. When I did my research I knew they were heavy on the brakes & millteks were popular so wouldn't bother me but a lot of people might not bother checking ?
Selling something is all about removing risk - maybe run an ad with car std + a years Audi warranty, price it accordingly but don't actually do it - if it works sure you could easily persuade them to take the upgrades once you have got people seeing it ?
Thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. However, I wouldn't put the old brake discs back on as they are pretty u/s, the clutch is obviously a no-go, the std exhaust I didn't keep due to storage space, so doesn't make sense to take the good stuff off.
What I need is for prospective buyers to go and drive a standard RS4 first before trying my car. It would definitely sell, no question.

As mad as it may be, second hand prices suffer a 'natural drop' at the time of the registration plate change - just around the corner now...
