Millers Octane Booster.
Basically this is used to compliment the use of 98ron petrol. It claims to increase the ron rating by 1-2 which would take it nearer to 100ron. It also keeps the engine running cleaner.
Most of the guys on here use it and will swear by it. I have run out ( ) and I have noticed a slight difference since I have stopped using it. Car seems to be more responsive using millers.

Re: Millers group buy again
This is presumably important with the high output engines. The bog standard 1.8T drinks 95Ron, is there any benefit to be gained by using higher octane fuel? Am I being negligent in looking after my baby?

Here's an experiment for you.... For the next 2-4 tanks of fuel, use Optimax (Shell). You should notice a difference.
Then you will probably think to yourself, 'this is nice I wonder what Optimax and Millers would be like...... '

Re: Millers group buy again
Hi Guys - potential TT -> RS4 convert popped over from the TT Forum (Hi Thorney ) and noticed this thread.
I'd been trying to get hold of some Millers but none of my local so-called Millers dealers stock it. I gave up yesterday and bought a can of Silkolene Pro Boost. Do any of you have any experience of this product?
It seems to me there are two distinct types of octane booster - basically those that come in a little bottle (how much Millers do you get per bottle? I assume one bottle treats a full tank?) and those that come in a big can (Silkolene comes in a 1ltr can, also for treating a full tank) and are relatively expensive (£8 a pop for Silkolene).
Anyone used Pro Boost? Comparisons? If I've just paid £8 for something that Millers does just as well for £2.50, count me in on the group buy (but don't let that influence your answers, obviously )
Cheers, Clive

Re: Millers group buy again
I have taken your advice and yesterday evening stuffed 50 squids worth of Optimax into the little darling!
Maybe my imagination but on my way in to the office this morning fuel consumption dropped from the normal 27.5 to 30!
Whatever's good for Herr Shumacher....

Sometimes I have to go North of Inverness where you can't get Optimax or any other fuel rating higher than 95. Which is not good for my chipped S4. Which is a real bummer since the roads north of Inverness to Caithness are fantastic.
Will this stuff bring the 95ron up to 98 for the instances when I can't get 98 or Optimax?
If so, I'm interested in 10 bottles as a starter. However, I live in Aberdeen. Given that I'd have to pay for postage do you think it would still be cheaper going the group buy option, assuming I can get this stuff or something similar locally?
Is there special postage restictions on this stuff given that it's highly flamible?

Re: Millers group buy again
Basically millers adds 2 RON to whatever you put in..
so for 95 it will make it 97,
put in 97 and it goes 99
use optimax (99) and you could be looking at 101RON!!
