Wanted Rs4 B5 2.7 Engine

Can't see how buying a S4 2.7 engine adds up.
Engine £1500, K04 turbos £900, Remap £500
Total £2900 - 350bhp?

Rs4 Engine 2.7
Engine £2750, Remap £500,
Total £3250 - 460bhp

£350 for an extra 110bhp seems like good value.
Either way i'm going to need a bespoke racing exhaust and 100 cell cat.

Fact is, you can pick up an S4 engine for a grand, and there's no shortage of them. Whack on some bigger turbos, intercoolers and injectors (i'm assuming on a kit car you will already have a suitable fuel pump and exhaust setup)and you've got an engine that will match a remapped RS4 engine.

S4 engine ~£1000
Injectors ~£250
CX Racing FMIC ~£400 (price has gone up a bit since I last looked!)
Turbos - currently some K04's for sale here for £750
Catless downpipes ~£150
Remap £500

= S4 engine with 460bhp and more low-down torque than equivalent power RS4 engine for about £3000.
