I'm starting to get the feeling this isn't going to happen ;) I think I'm going to have to start rationing my visits to the cars sale sites as I've memorised which cars are for sale due to visiting the pages every 20 minutes. I know as soon as a new one is added (god how sad am I) which probably isn't healthy.

For the sake of my health, someone sell me their car :D I suppose it's good in a way because I'm now officially in "1st Gear" post count territory. By the time I get an S4, I'll probably have amassed 1000 posts.

The search continues....

Chill, take your time, if you're patient, the right car will turn up...or maybe widen your search criteria to consider more than 1 colour?..Good luck :)

Haha, thanks guys I'm just after that "perfect car" as I've got about £11k to spend which should get me a low miler facelift. There have been a couple of S4's at £12k which were nice but I didn't think they were worth that kind of money. Noggy blue, ming blue or black would be the colours I'm after but it's got to be black leather as I have a dislike for light interiors (far too cheerful for my tastes ;)). Most of the dark pain colour S4's seem to have cream interiors which puts me right off.

Although an Avant would be more practical (as I play the drums), I'd just rather have a saloon. Something will come up eventually, I just need to cut back on the visits to the car sales pages :D

Yep, thanks for the heads up but I've been watching it for a while. This car has been on the market for nearly a month and the guy has been dropping the price steadily every week, and has just reposted it on monday with a new price. It started off at £12,700 which was way overpriced IMO. Personally I'm not looking to spend £12k on an S4 as I think that is pretty overpriced, and with Parkers indicating £10,100 to be the book price, I'm not convinved it's worth the additional premium. I realise market prices are a little higher for mint examples, but I've got a budget and need to stick to it, especially with similar spec cars on later plates for £1.5K less (just the wrong colour). Ideally I'd like to get one which will allow me to recoup as much money as possible when I come to sell it.

It's a good 3 hours drive away which means weekend viewings only, getting a lift up there will probably be a hassle. I've already spoken to the owner and he's not willing to come down to a price I'd be willing to pay so I'll just keep watching it and hope he reduces it further.

I thought that might be the case, hopefully a low miles, right colour, right interior, under priced car for sale in your town will come along soon...best of luck with this one :)

Yep, it's a shame because it's the perfect spec/colour etc for me. But there are a few more cars coming up a week now and I'm not in any rush to settle for a car that doesn't fit the profile. If the guy brings the price down, I'll probably make the effort to go up and see it, but until the price is right I'm staying put.

I'm totally settled in for the long haul now, it'll just make it all the sweeter when I get the car I want :)

Oh, and a 3 ;)

For the 6th of October, I proclaim this to be 6 (timed that well didn't I;)). Still looking, there seem to be a few more models coming up weekly, it's only going to be a matter of playing the waiting game now. Cash waiting for the right car.

Right, I'm off to wash and wax my golf (seems to have become a weekly ritual) in preparation for selling it.
