Anyone know if the brakes fit an S4, and how different they will be ?

Hi carps,
The rears will certainly fit, I had some put on mine this week.
If you have the older non vented rear S4 discs as on mine you will also need RS4 handbrake cables as the origionals will not reach the fittings correctly.

Think he loves the car as it is and intends to keep it for a long time so didn't see any reason to have the standard parts

I dont think I have ever seen a better example of an RS4; all the spare bits that John has available are in the original packaging. A fantastic purchase for anyone considering second hand "new" std rs4 bits.

I'm keen on the suspension bits for my 1998 S4 Avant but AMD are telling me they aren't compatible. Any one else with thoughts/experience about this?

The RS4 suspension will fit the S4 - there are a number of S4 owners on this forum who have already done this upgrade.

RS4 suspension bolts straight on, works well (better than old worn out S4 stuff) and does improve the drive. Obviously not as much as, say, an H&R setup, but at a fraction of the price. I found my car a little high at the back with the RS suspension, but I'll be sorting that out soon enough [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Cost is likely to be about £250 (£45 per hour), if you can go by the fitting cost of a new suspension kit. They do a four wheel alignment check as part of the fit.
