Wanted: S4 (b5) Headlight.

Post by StuH » Tue Jan 27, 2009 4:35 pm

I need a drivers side headlight for my pre-facelift S4. I have heard previously that I may be able to get a new plastic case. The ballast, bulb , projectors ect are fine but it’s been missing the lower mounts pothole make the beam jump. A used headlight is my preference but any advice is appreciated

Thanks in advance,

I've got a set of facelift lights for sale very soon. They are pattern parts (Depo) and are cosmetically identical to the Valeo units. The projectors aren't as good as the OEM pre-facelift xenon ones, but you could swap them out (although it looks like quite a bit of work).

Looking for £100 complete with HID kit, phillips sidelights and main beam bulbs (H7).

I quite like the idea of a set of facelift lights. I'm going to do some reading up on the work required to trim the wing flanges and possibly swap the projectors over.

After ive done a bit of web research and sussed what is involved i'll get back to you!

Trimming the wing is really easy. I used Grizz's airsaw and did it in seconds. You could just as easily use a dremmel.

Getting the facelift plugs can be a PITA depending on how well stocked the breakers yards are. I'll try and dig out the guide to swapping the projectors.

Here's the link to how you go about opening up a headlight unit. Apparently once they're open, the projectors are a straight swap.
