The company that I work for develops electronic systems for Formula 1 and other high end motorsport series.
We have a tyre pressure monitoring system that is used in F1 and other series that is of a very high specification.
There is a possibility that we could reduce the specification of this system to make it more appealing to road car use.
The system would consist of 4 wheel sensors an ecu and a dash mounted display. The display would indicate all 4 tyre pressures simultaneously and have warning lights in case of pressure drop.
Is there any interest amongst members here for this system and how much would people be prepared to pay?
A link to the full spec system is available here

Re: Tyre pressure monitoring system
Hmmm... Intreresting!! However, there are similar product in the market already, so if your price set too high people won't bother with it!! Beside, car owner trust their tyre pressure gauge and have the pressure checked every week. However, track day is another story.
I would pay below GBP200 for this gadget!!

Re: Tyre pressure monitoring system
A tyre pressure gauge isn't any good at detecting punctures when driving.
This system will warn you that you have a pressure loss, if you are travelling at 170mph you need to know that i tyre is deflating

If it works and looks good there is a market. I would be interested if the price was right.
Remember, it must work!!!

Re: Tyre pressure monitoring system
I have the Smartire fitted for 750AUD. A bargain IMHO.
Re: Tyre pressure monitoring system
I also have Smartire which was £350 to £400 and gives pressure and temperature as well as adjustable alarm settings
Works well, No complaints

Re: Tyre pressure monitoring system
I was doing only 50 when I had my blow out on the SSs. If I was not blocked in by tw guys racing each other I would have been doing 80-90. a blow out at that speed would have got me onto the wrong side of the road. A head on would have slowed me down. If I had the monitor installed I would have known about the low pressure.
