WANTED: B5 S4 (Saloon) - Facelift version
Thanks CH, yep I saw this one last week. Unfortunately I'm really looking for a black interior, I just can't get on with light/bright interiors, have never liked them
The market seems to have gone into hibernation as there are only 3 saloons in the UK on AT and not many B5s coming up on PH. I'm sitting quite comfortably waiting for the "perfect" car to turn up.

What sort of price are you looking for Simon & what's the current mileage?SimonS4MTM wrote:My car is for sale for the right price, dont use it much now, only done 400 miles over the last 4 months.
In two minds as to whether to keep hold of it so for the right price I may see it go.
Check my gallary.

Well, there's been quite a few S4's come onto the market this week which has been good (for my sanity
), some priced sensibly, others are just people dreaming and I have no doubt their cars will still be on the market in 2 months at that price
There is one which looks quite promising that is just 20 miles from my house that meets all the criteria barring the interior. It's cream, not my favourite, but my golf is starting to cost me money to keep it running and I can see it costing me quite a few pennies over the coming months. I figure I'll go look at this S4 and maybe look at swapping out the interior in the future rather than spending money keeping my golf running.
Anyway, I'm car-less today so may not get a chance to look until next week. We shall see

Cheers jb7_uk, I've got my fingers crossed as well
What sort of money are we looking at to put a black interior in (preferably the S4 recaros but not fussed) in the future? I'm guessing around £1k and then I can sell on the interior which comes out and make a little money back. I'm going to give the dealer a call shortly and ask a few questions about the car.

Depends if it's already got black centre console, dark carpets, etc. then it won't be too much hassle. You could get a decent set of recaros for £800+. Think there's someone on the RS4 forum considering selling.
If it's got the light grey plastic trim (like mine), I think it is a bit too much of a PITA. I'd planned to change my interior to black, but when I realised how many interior parts would need changing, I gave up. Now I have a shed load of black trim stuck in my house (glove box, centre console, door cards, etc.)!

Hi All,
First off, yes Carpy it's the one with the rear spoiler. I've just spoken to the guy and it's a PX that he took for some guy who bought a Merc of some description and is apparently quite tidy inside and out apart from someone has keyed the bonnet, which is about 6 inches long. He's said that he'll be getting this fixed but only got the car in yesterday. I don't think he's had much of a chance to look over the paperwork but it's definitely not had its 80K service which also includes the cambelt. Other than that, the guy seemed pretty busy and was keen to rush me off the phone so I didn't have a chance to ask much more about it.
I've spoken to the garage who is looking at my golf and it's good news as it was just a tracking issue that was causing the car to behave strangely (slightly wobbly steering basically). I had a service done at a supposed VAG specialist based in Slough in preparation for selling the car last week, and I was told I needed £1k worth of work (shocks all round, bushes etc) doing to it. I blatantly didn't believe them so booked it into the garage up the road for a second opinion. They said there was nothing drastically wrong with any of it (and I trust them more than the specialists) and sent it off to the local tyre place who have a laser levelling jobby. Cost me £100 total which included getting the tracking done, far better than £1k for a car that's only worth £2k. Quite frankly, I'm disgusted with the "Specialist" because I think they were just fishing for business, won't ever be going back there.
So the upshot is, I'm probably going to hang around a little longer for a Noggy Blue, black interior example to crop up. If I have some time next week, I might go and have a look at the one I mentioned above because it's not too far from me.
