Radar Detector Wanted

We're off to France on hols soon and as the Gendarmerie are now boshing out large fines AND taking away driving licences I need protection! Does anyone have a Valentine 1 for sale? Any thoughts on alternatives?

Dan's right there, I think they confiscate and levy fines - Taipan ?

There's one for sale in the marketplace on www.audi-sport.net though.

I think you are correct about them being illegal in France - so is speeding! A buddy of mine recently got a £500 fine and had his licences taken away! Last year I got a £700 fine - but it's part of the holiday fun(!) until they take your licence which then means your [email]F@@ked.[/email] So it seems there's not too much choice - get protection or go SLOOOOOW!

I think they confiscate the equipment and fine you big time (thousands of Euros) for using a Radar detector.

It's worse than that.....

I've heard that the Gendarmes will make you destroy the detector on a good day, and on a bad day customs can impound your car!!

Not worth it IMHO
