Will possibly be selling my B6 S4. Depending on a couple of things 1) price offered with millteks and price offered without and 2) the ability to put a standard system back on (I don't have the old standard system as AMD kept it) I may be looking to sell my full milltek res system (hi-flo cats + cat back with 100mm tips)

Would anyone be interested in purchasing the system ? Don't have a clue what a fair price is but costs £2,500 new. (so make me an offer)

I know there are a lot of if, buts and maybe's - sadly I also don't have much time before I need to decide to sell or keep the car. (looking to get rs4 and wife doesn't want to part with her focus st)

i do - but the wife loves it and doesnt really want to get rid of it.

I want the RS4 so bad that something has to give, and in reality can i really justify having two 4.2 ltr V8's on the drive - once i have the RS4 will the S4 ever get driven ?

It all really depends on what i can get for the S4 in total - will need enough to clear the outstanding finance on the Focus - but only a short tinme frame to do it as have found a RS4 that i like the look of and have a holding deposit on - hopefully going to look at tomorrow and possibly buy on Saturday.

For the cat back I'd say your looking at £300-£400 and prob same for cats

Max a grand for the lot, IMO

Noone will pay a grand more for your car if you leave it on, so a no brainer

The RS4 from a garage with a px available on the S4? As you say, logistically you might be stuck as of course you cannot drive the S4 without a full exhaust swapped over. MRC, APS, QST, Unit 20, AmD Essex are all worth a shout for a stock system. After speaking to Milltek themselves last year, the B6 B7 S4 Milltek is still a big seller. As discussed on this forum previously, used stock systems are not worth anything as there are so many lying around.

I'd love the cats, however being sensible for a moment, they'd make my car much harder to insure - combined with the fact it would need a remap to make the most of the potential gains - if I ever moved away from mod-friendly Adrian Flux. Making one or both sides non-res is a more realistic mod for mine with not a penny more to pay on insurance.

Following on from my original post that OE downpipes would be harder to find than the OE rear half, CliveH is selling a pair of OE downpipes. He's not on RS246. Don't know if you use Audi SRS.com Spikey? If not, I'm happy to forward on an email address / mobile number by pm. At work online until 5pm, will be offline after that.

thanks for the offer - to be honest looks like i will be keeping the S4 for the time being - trying to rush a sale on it would annoy me - dealer only offered £6,500 and said that its not a fair price for the car and i wil be better off selling private.

Plus annoyingly when i have the Zorts done at AMD they kept the old system and said that they always have the old system in stock if i needed to change back - guess what thay dont have any now.

I wonder how much they get on the scrappage on the old systems - especially the CATs as i thought they had platinum in them

When I sold my S4 I was looking at swapping out my full Milltek (down pipes, cats, tail)

It would have meant me meeting up with the buyer at a garage and having them swapped. It just seemed risky e.g. stuck manifold bolt etc and one or both of us getting stuck when I was up against the clock for my part-ex.

Some one out there probably doesn't know what they've got.

An engine block with a manufacturing defect that Audi wouldn't honour under warranty despite being pre-existing??
