B7 OEM std springs -free

Post by Mav8 » Sun Aug 04, 2019 8:50 pm

I have the front/rear springs taken of my B7-RS4 avant @50k.
Theses are now surplus as I’ve fitted SS+ springs.
Theses are the std OEM that came on the car,
They’re free for collection only,or can bring to AITP otherwise they’re going in the bin.
Based in Hertfordshire.
Thanks

Yes I still have them but don’t know if they fit a saloon.
Perhaps someone could enlighten us

They will fit a saloon but the spring rate might be too hard resulting in the rear ride height being higher than normal.

What paint codes are on the springs? From that you can work out the axle weight range.

SS+ springs are the same for Avant and Saloon but standard SS are different between the two depending on what options were spec'd.

The springs you have are:

Front springs are 0JJ (Front Axle Weight Range 9), 2MC (SS)
8E0 411 105 EH coil spring
1 paint mark (Green)
2 paint marks (White)

Rear springs are 0YM Rear Axle Weight Range 11, 2MC (SS)
8E0 511 115 FN coil spring
1 paint mark (Grey)
3 paint marks (Brown)

Interestingly my Avant had the same rear springs but came with stiffer front springs:

Front springs:

0JK Front Axle Weight Range 10, 2MC (SS)
8E0 411 105 EJ coil spring
1 paint mark (Green)
3 paint marks (White)

As my car has no sunroof I can only assume this was because my car left the factory with the heavier fully electric recaro comfort seats.

So the front springs will work on a saloon if it has no sunroof and bucket seats (never wing-backs) but the rear will sit too high as SS for the that car is weight range 10 at the rear.

Unless there is a big sub-woofer/couple of dead hookers in the boot...... then it will sit nicely.
