Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me and I will pay the person that does.
3 weeks ago I bought a pair of new c6 rs6 bucket seats from a guy named Darrell Phillips, got him to send me his drivers license as he didn’t want to go through eBay, because of the fees, does anyone live near him, I just want to see if he does exist or if I’ve been rolled.
His address is orchard corner hieghtington Bewdley DY 12
2xw.
If anyone has been in this situation before, especially having transferred $4000 for them over 2 weeks ago and if you have any suggestions on what to do I would really appreciate it, thanks

OP lives in Oz, so i guess he had no other option to pay first before receiving the goods.

If you used paypal to pay for the transaction, you may still be covered under paypal protection even if its outside of ebay. Have a chat with them first

There is a Darrell Phillips in Bewdley of that age (according to 192.com), but he is ex directory. And it would appear he rented the place 4 years ago. Perhaps the letting agent can help you - there is a phone number listed on here https://www.mouseprice.com/property-for ... y+dy12+2xw

Mind you, that doesn’t mean he is the chap that sold you the seats...

This is exactly why you are meant to go through eBay.

If he is innocent then he is open to all kinds of fraud now that his address and driving license are on a public forum lol.

I know, I feel like a peanut, but I talked to him on the phone and I have the whole negotiation process saved through the eBay messages, so I really didn’t think he was bad news.

A peanut? I would feel like a cúnt :bash:

It’s maybe possible to contact your bank but I’m not sure they will be able to do anything as you freely transferred the money.

Cheers

Is the person responding to messages / emails / texts etc? It takes a bloody long time to post something to Australia! My brother lives there!

And do you have any proof that the person you have been dealing is actually the name above? And that he didn't just find that driving licence in a pub car park etc

Yeah, his phone seems to be off and he is not responding to the eBay messages, I checked his eBay account and his has positive feedback for the last 10 years.

I’m going to pay to track the money to confirm it’s in his account, but it definitely has left my account 3 weeks ago, thanks guys for all your help.
But I just got so excited as I’ve wanted the buckets seats for a while now and when I saw them on eBay, I thought it would be safe to buy them.

If someone isn't willing to pay the eBay fees then they shouldn't have used eBay in the first instance. It's just greed, they'd not have sold the item if it weren't for the platform, the fees make that happen. So you really want to deal with a person like that, just walk away... next time.

I didn't think the ebay fees were that much and people normally try to save money by not using PayPal.

And were you expecting him to post the seats to you and where do you live?
He's 45 miles from me.

That looks like the guy from the licence, maybe try sending him a message through Facebook?
