1 week after an MRC stage one tune goes in I feel a vibration at the rear. Audi confirms that the propshaft is damaged. Likely due to the extra power/strain..

They are charging me £2500 for a new one.

Can anyone recommend any place cheaper to get it from?

Thanks in advance and think twice before adding that tune!

Unlucky but could be worse as the gearbox went in my mates who had a stage 2 tune.. what year is your car?

Yeah, could be worse! My car is 2014 Model and has done 75,000km

Not sure on your location but i like to think my local driveline specialist could fix it for a fraction of the new cost

If its still under warranty best to get it back to stock then take it in. Or try another dealer in area.

Warranty void when It was tuned. Even though the tune was removed it still shows on audis system.

Oh they certainly can. Everytime an ecu is flashed it's logged, even if you flash it back, the Audi system matches the amount of Flashes that the ECU has had compared to the amount that has happened officially from Audi. If the numbers don't match, say bye, bye..

Btw I'm with you on this one.

FB is full of "tuning" companies selling shitty tuning boxes and flashes who will tell you any old BS that it's untraceable.

Even the boys who had a "special relationship" with dealers will soon find that relationship is over....VAG group are screwed finacially after diesel date and will be tightening their belts accordingly....this WILL filter down to stealers.

BTW All my cares have been mapped (apart from latest) but I always knew the potential to be hung out to dry if something went pop.

My PRE FL was
Tuned soon as Audi plugged it in for work map flagged up(I expected it to be fair).....however my warranty claim was for a knackered calipers and dealer did renew as wasn't drivetrain!! Crazy!!

To Be fair I know in the uk the top tuners reset the flash counter so Audi cannot tell unless the process has changed but it's just a simple counter that Bosch implement so I can't see it.

I went with Apr tune and when my car suffered from a burst coolant pipe i simply got the guys at my tuning place to take off the Map and sent it in and they repaired it without any signs off the ecu being tuned before. Maybe you have to use a experianced specialist tuning garage who knows what they are doing.

Are they charging £2500 for just the part or inc labour, i will find out for you tomorrow if i can get cheaper for you plus postage to dubai.
