I had a spare pair for sale recently with the lower parts replaced for sale herne for 2550e. Lots of questions but sold them locally on the end (after nearly 2 weeks).
If you really want ones you should get the best ones available even if they would cost more then the cheapest ones. Get oem rs4 b7 wingbacks.

Not sure if those S3 ones have the inflatable bolsters either?

My wife had a 2012 S3 (as stated in the advert) with buckets and they didn't have inflatable bolsters. Mind you, they didn't have that stitching either.

very nice seats but painting the backs would be a right pia and expensive to have done correctly to match my car.

Why is it a pain or expensive? Relatively simple I thought for me.

Would it not be hard to get the leather edging back so they could be painted properly? I don't know much about these things but if its easy i stand corrected.

No just grab the bottom edge and peel it back working your way around. Takes less than 5 mins to do. And then they just tuck back in afterwards.
And the side kidneys just pop off. The hardest bit is getting the seat belt hoops off, but this is not really difficult just takes a little know how.
