Wanted - RS4 B7 inlet manifold - or fix?

Post by Tom Eggar » Thu Aug 17, 2017 8:53 am

Hi all, thanks for the add.

I have just bought an RS4 B7. The EPS, then the engine light has come on just before the service was due. I booked it in and the Audi Quattro specialist I use has shown me the culprit: One bank of the air control flaps, in the inlet manifold has a lot of play in them, while the other one is fine (plus the usual coking up). They quoted me about £2250 plus VAT for a new inlet manifold from Audi, which include all the flaps etc for both sides, plus fitting. A kick in the pants when I have just bought it! Does anyone know where or who could supply me with a used air inlet manifold - preferably with warranty, but not essential , as long as the flaps do not have play in them? The car is in the garage and waiting for the parts, so could do with ASAP. Any help / advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks all!
Regards
Tom

Remove the flaps as remove the carbon, MRC can do this for less than the price you have been quoted

I had exactly the same issue. There was play in one of the shafts.
This was spotted by Doug during the big rumble at MRC May 2016. They removed the flaps, and did a full clean and extended service whilst they had my RS4. It's now as fast as the Star Ship Enterprise especially when you hit the warp 9 "S" button.

i,m sure there was one here for sale recently i,d certainly not pay for a new manifold thats just nuts, as others have said just get unit 20 or mrc to remove them and map it to suit. no future problems then.

I've got one if you want it but it does have play in one of the sides.
