Milltek RS6 (C7) Catback Exhaust - SOLD

Post by Leo-RS » Wed Nov 04, 2015 10:43 am

Hello,

I have for sale a Milltek catback exhaust with the resonated centre section (Mates directly to the OEM downpipe) for the C7 RS6

This was removed from a 64 plate car having covered less than 1000m with it fitted before sale, so condition is excellent. The cheapest I have found this exhaust online for is £1,755 + postage (Has a lowest price guarantee promise)

http://www.rtecshop.com/shop/exhausts/m ... pipes.html

I paid £1300 for this and have never fitted it to my car, I've instead opted to go down the larger bore custom exhaust route. £1250 including delivery which is a saving of around £550 for someone off new price and a slight hit for me for changing my mind :bash:

Will this retain the valve control system ie from comfort to dynamic?

Yes. You can see the valves on the rear boxes.

Yes, as above, the valves are still controlled the same way they are with the standard exhaust system.

An aftermarket part does not invalidate the entire warranty, it would only invalidate that specific part of the warranty so if the Milltek exhaust section had any issues, Audi obviously wouldn't start repairing a Milltek exhaust part. You would still have the standard Audi exhaust to fit back to the car should there be any problems with the Milltek though and as it's only the catback section (downpipe back) then a very easy job to switch them back

Not entirely true... yes what you say is correct, but in addition, Audi could refuse a warranty claim on another component that had failed / been damaged as a result of fitting a non-standard part

IMO, with a cat-back exhaust such a scenario seems pretty unlikely though

A chat with a friendly and knowledgeable service manager at a main dealer (if any still exist that is! ) would be a good idea if you were at all concerned

I have actually kept it in the end Paul, couldn't delete this thread so marked it as sold.

I bought it and then had 2nd thoughts, I wanted a full twin 3 inch system all the way through but wanted to keep the valved boxes. I spoke to a local exhaust builder but it was just going to be a pain in the ass and just as expensive to build one up along with a long wait, testing, etc.

The standard exhaust system is 2 x 2.5'' all the way through

Milltek catback system is 2 x 2.75''

Milltek offer 2 downpipe solutions, as per original spec 2 x 2.75'' downpipes which makes it a 2 x 2.75'' all the way through. They also do new 2 x 3'' downpipes/2nd cat bypass pipes.

The 2.75'' downpipes/cat bypass retail at around £850
The 3'' downpipes/cat bypass retail at around £1350

The 3 inch downpipes are Cerakote coated too.

I figured that as the Milltek catback is 2.75'', by opting for the 3'' downpipes, it would eventually step down into the 2.75'' catback section. I pondered on it for a while as the 3'' downpipes will obviously flow a little better and will rebel heat a bit better so they are the better option, I just think that for what I'm after (Stage 2 750hp levels) then the 2.75'' is sufficient (Considering the cost element too). I think if you are going for Stage 3 higher horsepower numbers, it would be best to get the 3'' downpipes.

As part of the black Friday deal, they was near enough a 30% discount on those prices above, made perfect sense to stick with the Milltek option

Cheapest 3'' online is £1202...

http://www.regalautosport.com/shop/_RS6 ... tensions_l

Cheapest 2.75'' online is £748...

http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/product ... s7-40-tfsi

So a saving over the Milltek retail, but yeah they were better last week as part of the Black friday deals.

You bought your front pipes yet?? Maybe if we gang up on Regal and offer to buy 2 sets he will cave-in??

Might be worth starting a new thread on the proper forum in case someone else wants pipes??

The FR tuning link is not including the VAT so its £748 when the 20% gets added, same as the JBS link

The Regal downpipes are the 2.75'' version (it's a mistake on their website) I enquired about them too but essentially they are the Milltek downpipes only (No front connecting pipes) which they modify to fit to the stock catback/frontpipe section. This means it's a 2.75'' downpipe, going into 2.5'' frontpipe/catback and you still have the secondary stock cats in place. Also, Milltek don't do the 3'' downpipes uncoated (Which the regal downpipes are)

With the 2.75'' Milltek downpipes, they come with the connecting front pipes too which replace the secondary cats. You can't mate these to the standard catback though, the fitments are different which means if you buy the downpipes you have to buy the Milltek catback section to mate it too (unless of course you manage to modify the connections) - What's the point though as the stock catback is 2.5'', its too choked up.
