Hi, I have a 57 plate RS4 with RSN-E with a changer fitted. Would this cable be compatible once the unit has been coded?

Certainly would graham. The only proviso is you need firmware version 650 on the rnse - which is on map DVDs from 2008 onwards. So if you've already got later maps you'll be fine

what would i need to fit this to my 2007 model, not sure which maps I have and does this matter? at the moment I have the audi iPod dock in, but that is for a iPhone 4 style connector

You need 2008 onwards maps (well, actually you need firmware 650, but that came on 2008 maps onwards). If you've got an ipod dock (AMI) already then this wont as it requires the use of the AV socket which AMI uses unfortunately.
