Wanted : RS4 Avant (B7)

I've started the search for my RS4 Avant

On my wishlist : Daytona Grey or Mugello Blue, <50K miles, bucket seats, flat bottom steering wheel, black optics pack, carbon trim.

Any help much appreciated!

Ahh, the delights of FON - thank you both!

Budget is £20-23k.

Off to my local Audi garage tomorrow to test drive one.

Saw two cars today. The Audi garage car looked a little scruffy - missing bodywork trim, scuffs & scratches on almost every panel. It drove well, especially in Sports mode. Over 5000rpm it was a different machine entirely - amazing! But overpriced given the condition. The second car, again at a dealers, looked good. Then the paperwork came out - it had a new engine and gearbox six months ago! Price was good (£3k cheaper than the Audi garage for similar mileage) but no S mode on this one it would seem - it had a standard MFSW.

Which leads me to ask...is there a definitive list of standard vs optional extras for the B7 Avant? For example, Sports mode. Is that on all cars with or without flat bottom wheels? I read somewhere there was a sports suspension pack. And is it common for engines to blow??

's' mode button would have been on the centre dash next to the ESP button above the nav if it had a standard MFSW.

Pity you won't consider a higher miler in Sprint Blue, you're missing out. Mine is still on original engine and clutch, brakes in the last 10k miles, 7mm on all tyres, just serviced and regularly maintained and a snip of your budget.

Ahh, thank you. Having driven both back to back I can't see why you wouldn't want the flat bottomed wheel. Do those with RS4s ever come out of Sport mode when it sounds that good?!!

Still very much on the hunt for a car.

The last one I saw had a clean bill of health on the DRC checks at 50k miles. Should I expect them to give out sometime soon?
It has also had the coils changed - is this common?

Coils would most likely be due to a service campaign by Audi to replace them a while back (worth confirming though). DRC, impossible to tell, although if its over 5 years old or over 75k miles (so out of DRC extended warranty) and still on original shocks I'd prepare for replacement with Gen II DRC shocks or coilovers sometime in the near future.

This one is a 56 plate, 50k miles. Assuming it will be out of warranty how much would replacement parts be?
