FS: RS4 B7 Sprint Blue Saloon - Very good condition, £18500

Post by sevy » Thu Aug 16, 2012 12:14 am

With some reluctance my B7 RS4 is up for sale.

I've owned it for almost 3 years and in that time it's never let me down, and has always managed to put a smile on my face.

The car is going to be sold on my behalf by forum member neilc (Norfolk Performance Car Sales) - here's a link to his website:

http://www.norfolkperformancecarsales.c ... saloon.htm

The car will be going on Pistonheads, Autotrader etc by the end of the week, and someone (ideally a forum member) will be getting themselves a bargain, including a warranty etc for peace of mind. I've looked after the car since I've had it, and as my daily driver for a 15-20 mile each way commute it's been driven regularly and very rarely over short journeys. Whilst I know the mileage will put some people off, I firmly believe that the more these cars are driven the better they drive.

There's a fair amount of detail in the link above, but if anyone wants any further detail please feel free to PM me as I’m happy to answer any questions.

Cheers,

Sevy

Hi Paul - if I can pull the necessary funds together and prices drop sufficiently in the run up to Christmas I hope to be driving a 911 turbo by the end of the year... :)

997 if possible. I can just about afford a 996 now, but a 997 is my dream...but that's where the problem lies in trying to justify the difference in £'s to step up to the 997.

Trouble is, if I go for a 996 I think I'm gonna wish I'd held out for a 997. Hmmm, decisions decisions! :?

Go for the 997, the interior in the 996 is dreadful, or maybe even a 993 Turbo

Depends what you mean by 'good'. The gen 2 (2009 onwards) is the ideal as they came with various facelifts and the PDK transmission, but you're talking £60k upwards for those which is well out of my league...

However, there are gen 1's (2006-08) which are still fantastic cars in their own right for less than £40k now. Those admittedly tend to be very high mileage, but I've viewed a couple of very nice examples for around £45k with around 40-50k on the clock. That sort of mileage doesn't bother me as long as the cars have been looked after and they have solid service history (I bought my RS4 with 58k on the clock!). I just need to price of these 40-50k examples to come down below £40k to become really tempting....

I agree with you Amar - for that sort of money I'd want the interior to be up to scratch as well as the exterior and of course the performance!

Yes the 993 is a bit of a classic, but I believe they're actually increasing in value at the moment so probably out my reach. Not sure I'd want to go for something that old anyway - I do like some modern creature comforts...

Yeah, I agree, Si. I'd go 997 too, I'd love a 993 tucked away for that odd day though.

I don't know why its not been snapped up
Lovely grey colour also
I would buy it but not convinced on a 997T

I'd have a 997 GT3 over a 997TT although both are excellent.

Mind you for safe depreciation the 996TT surely can't get much cheaper and IMHO looks better, 997TT body is nicer than Carrera but those polished wheels are a little too bling for me.
As for the 996 interior being poop, well yes it is but you get used to it and it's actually very well put together and TBH when you drive a good 996 last thing you care about is the interior. You do need sports seat however in either 996 or 997 (they are the same)

Yes Dave - seen that one. It's a lovely example being sold by a member of the 911 forum. I don't understand why it's not been snapped up either. Too far out of my budget unfortunately as it would be about my ideal spec & colour!

Totally agree with what you say about depreciation on the 996TT, and you're probably right about the interior not being that important, but I do want some fairly up-to-date creature comforts in my next long term car. As for the wheels, I love the polished alloys on the 997 whereas those on the 996 make the car look really ordinary IMO. Each to their own eh!

Also understand what you say about the GT3, but they are a little too 'in yer face' for my liking - both fantastic cars though as you say...
