F/S - A Different V8 - AM VANTAGE ROADSTER N400

Post by max_b » Sat Aug 11, 2012 8:23 pm

I wanted something to re-create the vocal joy my RS4 Cab used to give me when I had it and this does it brilliantly.
Unfortunately a property deal means it needs to go. If you like your V8's in convertible form, you'll struggle to buy better....

GLWS

Looks nice

Tried many before buying mrs porker but for her thought either clutch and gears were a big hardworking and the sportshift was similar to an M6 I used to have, which is not a good thing!

Good gents car but I couldn't justify the price of an S at the time and running costs worried me slightly eg clutch!

Dare I say it, better than the 4 Cab with Miltek!

A simple removal of a fuse (Fuse 22 for the Google searches) results in the exhaust valves being constantly open and your know its coming before you see it

535, I understand what you are saying about the gearboxes. The early sportshifts gearboxes are awful (Imo), the manual's a lot better and there have been improvements in the linkages over time.

Re the costs, I know what your saying but the experience of an AM makes up for it :D

My final issue was that the Mrs works for me and our private car park is on the main high street and can be seen by all. For some reason I thought our £63k porker could still look like a £45k car(base price of
Boxster) whereas your £45k car still looks to many like a £110k car!

Given that I'm in a service industry I need to consider these things!

It does but you also get complemented in the most favourable way. There is something very British about an Aston and it's the only car I have not any (perceived or direct) negativity with. People forever want to hear it, a blip of the throttle and it's all :thumb:

The new Boxster does look fab though and congrats on your recent purchase

do you have it serviced at the dealer near clent? I drive past there pretty much every day and they have some truely stunning cars

ps. good luck with the sale.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

I know where you are on about, but it's not that dealer that has looked after this car. Cheers for your message
