Hi,

Not long bought this car, but sadly a oil piston ring is on its way out and its only getting worse so I'm looking to sell up whilst I can, and as a result being sold as spares of repair.

Its a 1999 S4 bi turbo in fantastic condition, running on coilovers, with miltek Decat, Hybrid K03's and RS4 clutch, and injectors having covered about 5K miles, complimentary after market mint alloys with good tyres. 109K miles.

Silver paintwork in great condtion all round, and black leather interior also in great condition.

Recently had a 2K health check and stage 3 map at MRC and running circa 380bhp and feels close to 400, with shed loads of torque and instant spool, and actually feels nicer to drive than a K04 I had running 450 a while back.

Good project for someone to fix, alternatively probably would see a good return as a breaker. But I dont have time or inclination for either, so being sold for £2,500 so I can hopefully move on.

Long MOT, Taxed, V5 present, and Car based in East Sussex. Still a driveaway and pulls like a train.

Any more info on the ring damage? Compression test carried out?

My bad above, the Stage3 map and helth check was done by MRC not AMD (Receipt for work inlcuding various things like new maf sensor etc), and yes the previous owner who had this done was honest enough to admit that MRC said they thought a piston ring was tired.

No compression done by me, but as above led to beleive it is a ring based on what previous owner and MRC habe advised. Ironically although I was getting blue smoke this moring after blipping throttle, at lunch time it seems to be running clean. So seems a little irratic.

I checked oil level earlier and its on max if not just above, so thats probably not helping and just ordered myself and oil syphone to pull a litre or so of oil out to see if that helps. But I suspect I'm wasting my time and may only be gaining myself some extra time.

So would sooner sell now whilst its a runner.

Is it burning any oil then?

Yes I can smell it, and have seen it some times when you blip the throttle from stationary, but its not enough to lower the oil level to any great extent quickly, as the oil levels were on Max/over max when I got it, and still on Max/over max now, and I've covered a few hundred miles in it.
