When I have given up the search it looks like I may have found a good example!! It's for sale at Dubbers in Huddersfield 54 plate black saloon 101k sensible mileage. Main things sorted so it's had a gearbox refurb and also had oil n filter changed since. Milltek exhaust DRC suspension replaced turbos and Intercoolers replaced and up rated its in really good condition and drives well is there anything I have missed please?? Also does 7 owners sound high???

Yep I know!! But I haven't been looking all that time if I was I would be going crazy right now lol!!! To be honest I missed out on a lovely blue one last year cause I was too slow and I was away so colour isn't a huge issue any more it just has to be well sorted and sensible miles and low owners!!!

Yeah I seen this appear yesterday I will be making enquires don't like the black wheels but that's an easy fix so that don't bother me but mileage is great and only 3 owners!

Never really understood the obsession with number of owners (especially with older and/or more exotic cars).

Does it imply it's not been looked after (e.g. they could afford the ticket price but not the maintenance) or that it's a bit of a lemon so people get shot of it again quite quickly when they realise?

Personally, I'd be more interested in the service history, current state and perhaps how long the current owner has had it (as above - may imply they've not had the funds to maintain it properly).
Mine had a fair few previous owners, but the current one has had it for nearly 9 years!
So total number of owners may be high, but I'd like to think that it's been well looked after for at least the majority of it's life and if it had been abused by a previous owner then I'd expect any such abuse to have surfaced by now!

So, in my head at least, it's not the total number of owners that counts, it's the way it's been looked after, which should be reflected in it's current condition.

I bought my 58 plate car last year cognisant I'd be the 7th owner but at least the previous 2 had been RS246 Members. The car had had the BIG C6 jobs done on it.

Touch wood, it has been good as gold.

Moral of the story: I don't give a **** about that aspect of the purchase decision as long as the car's provenance is good, and, buying off the Forum, since 2003 when I first got a S2, has always been a good experience for me.

Where are you based? Dubbers is only a couple of Miles away from me, would be nice to have another C5 Saloon in the area if you're not too far away.

Hi! Does anyone know much about the black Audi RS6 saloon that's on eBay? It's the 2005 car at Darlington? Been to see it ticks a heck of a lot of boxes previous owner had it for 7 years and looked after it am away for nearly a week now but curious if it's been a forum car please? Thanks
