B7 RS4 Daytona Avant

Post by EAndy » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:51 pm

Just feelers really. Had a few people ask me for pictures with relation to my car. I'm not really that fussed if the car is sold now or in 12 months time its not going to be actively listed but I thought I'd take some pictures today for those whom requested some and then thought it made sense to put them up on here.

Basic spec is:
2007 Reg (07 Reg)
51,322 miles
RS4 B7 Avant
Daytona Grey
Carbon fiber console trims
bucket seats, the electric bolsters work fine with the 'S' mode
heated front seats
SAT NAV / 6-Disc Changer
Adaptive Headlights
BOSE audio
has FSH the last done was by MRC Tuning around 8 weeks ago, next service is 444 days or 11,400 miles it was fully inspected and dyno'd to make sure nothing was wrong as well.
Tax & MOT till middle of next year

I'm looking for around £22,250 but I'm open to sensible offers. (Also interested in whether people feel this is fair price or overpriced I won't be offended). As this is a sort of opened advert and I won't be advertising till around March time next year on car sale sites this price will obviously differ as the time goes on and the market changes.

First some interior shots, the interior is unmarked I can't make claims of the first owners but I know myself and the previous are non-smokers. Bolsters work fine, no stains, burns, tears, loose stitching etc.

Love this image purely for the shin reflecting off the bonnet literally makes the paintwork look like mirror finish

Some images of the car taken today. I wanted to take pictures in the light when the sun was shining so I apologise in advance for not having cleaned properly the wheels, these were removed and cleaned along with the arches afterwards I just wanted to make use of the rare amount of sun in the middle of November to take images to show the paintwork and felt if I waited till I'd done the wheels and arches I'd have missed the sunlight which I in fact would of as it's gone dark and dull now.

Not taken today but a not so long ago snap of the engine bay to finish of with the pictures for now

For once... I'd say that was under-priced.
Daytona + Avant = Desirable, both command a slight premium, so together a must have to many.
VW Toe-rag V6 R-line.... no curry hooks...wtf ?
Gone: Avus Avant B7 RS4.... plus curry hooks !

What are the timescales for your sale ? The reason I ask is that I have a leased A6 Avant which is due to go back in March 2012. After an extended period of leasing cars I've been thinking about buying again and an RS4/S4 Avant is near the top of my list. Registered with this site to find out more about them and found your post. Your car is exactly what I'd be looking for, in the right colour and the price is right. Where are you (and the car) located ?

i love it when forums say that ...

its always said by people already with cars, and not buyers ...

if it was £19,995 Id say it was under priced ... as it is, its priced to sell

Its very nice indeed EAndy, you have obviously cared well for it. Re the price, I am in the market at this very moment for an avant in grey, black or avus silver but its a buyers market so I am being very fussy! Also due to people worried about further financial woes, buyers are much fewer and further between which has forced the values down considerably (unfortunately for some).

£22250 i would say is a very fair price considering its in such good nick and the right spec.
I would be interested but the mileage is a little high for me and it doesn't have full Audi history. I agree that MRC will probably do a better job than Audi but again, full audi history is important for some but I think you have reflected this in the price to be fair. (i would be interested in hearing peoples thoughts on not having a full Audi history and if it really matters on a car out of warranty???)

Great car, good price, I should think you'll sell it before April but there are at least 2 cars on Auto Trader that have less miles, in one case 41k (although its an older car) and are at the same money which have been listed for some time unsold.

I know that there are quite a few people scouting the classifieds waiting to pounce on the right deal! Its all about the price at the moment!

Dave

PS - I have been deliberating about PM-ing you for more info on brake condition / tyre condition, work you have done to it such as exhausts and wheel spacers etc plus detailed info of the services and any DRC issues / previous resolved issues you know of and also recalls done and number of owners? Would you mind listing this info just in case you further convince me that your car is right for me?!!!

there you go then, perspective from an active buyer

FASH is important if you ever want goodwill from a dealer ... and with DRC, that may well be required !

The car itself is in standard form apart from a couple bulbs, I've changed the side lights, DRL and Fogs to match the colour of the Bi-Xenons. The standard bulbs are yellowed whereas the Bi-Xenons a nice bright white/blue, standard bulbs included can be refitted of course.

Regarding exhaust I had the Miltek on but put the standard OEM back on. With regards to spacers I was going to go down this route but in the end opted not to. Purely because of the sizes, I have a personal issue with using any spacers less than 10mm and they have to be hub centric, the best set up would of required an 8mm spacer and I'm fussy so decided I'd go without.

With regards to not having a last service at Audi was purely not on cost although they wanted something like £550 for the service which was just an oil change. I opted instead to take MRC have the spark plugs changed, a new panel filter a full inspection and the car dyno'd to make sure it was running correctly power wise no vacuum leaks etc for a fraction more plus I (and it's personal opinion) find Interdependent Specialists are more knowledgeable and careful with working on the cars.

Tyres all have over 4.5mm tread I can take the exact measurements they had 4 new Pirelli P-Zero's go on Xmas Eve last year at the cost of £999.97 from Cambridge Performance Tyres.

Regarding brakes the front pads are fairly low, I have new pads ready to go on once the sensor lights ups although I'm told even when the sensor comes on you've usually another 3,000 miles. The rear discs and pads probably need a change in 5000 - 10000 miles this is something that would be done prior to any sale anyway not any 'I'll work it into the price' purely it's something I will have done anyway because it needs to be done especially if I do keep onto the car.

DRC issues I've had nothing done although it's covered under Audi Warranty for another 19,000 miles or September 2012, I won't be doing the miles so it'll be September time, again prior to any sale I'll have them inspected at Audi and if they are fine then not much I can do, if not I'll have the suspension issues resolved under warranty.

The car was sold to the previous owner as an Audi Approved on 16/04/2009 from Leicester Audi aside from MRC inspection around July this year it was also inspected by Audi Cambridge on May 20th 2011 and the only thing they found wrong was the 'Tyre Repair Solution Is Out Of Date' and Audi Cambridge were the ones that did the last MOT in May this year as well.

Issues the car has had:-
Tyre valve replaced by Audi (£11.49).
Defective RNSE Head Unit - (Under Warranty). 04/05/2010
Intake Flap Actuator Solenoid (Under Warranty). 29/03/2010
17D7 Oil Pipe (Under Warranty). 16/02/2010

Car was
04/04/2007 Registered by Leicester Audi (Dealer 751)
28/02/2008 Serviced (LongLife) by Derby Audi (Dealer 502) - 18,557 miles
25/09/2008 Multi Point check by Leicester Audi (Dealer 751) - 21,754 miles
16/04/2009 Sold as Approved Audi by Leicester Audi (Dealer 751) - 27,936 miles
04/02/2010 Serviced (LongLife) by Cambridge Audi (Dealer 259) - 31,966 miles
20/05/2011 Multi Point check by Cambridge Audi (Dealer 259) - 45,632
03/08/2011 Serviced (LongLife) by MRC Tuning - 48,503 miles

I'm in the process of actually contacting the previous dealers with regards to getting as much information about the car as possible although due to Data Protection Act this is a pain in the arse even though I own the car and just want the car side of anything related now information on previous owners.

Hope that helps with a bit more information.

I fully agree with this statement and with all my cars if they have warranty I maintain a full dealer service history obviously the car would be out of this now as it's over 3 years old however the DRC shouldn't be effected regardless of whom services the car and as long as an independent uses the correct service parts which MRC do then in theory even under 3 years it would still be under warranty.

Ie. Litchfield and the Nissan GTR's not a dealer but approved so doesn't effect service. I can't justify Nissan charging £490 when Litchfield do the same service for £189 using the same parts and maintain the warranty.

Regarding DRC though it will be out of warranty shortly anyway and at the moment it has no issues, 'IF' there was issues I would have it resolved for the next owner regardless of warranty or not although I can't see why they would decline the work I could see how they might make it more awkward.

Thanks EAndy for the info, nice and informative.

One quick question - How much would do Audi charge to replace the DRC should al shocks require replacing? I have £1500 in my head...
