Steve, I might be interested for the wife if she can get her head around driving a DSG rather then a manual (Clarkson-esque mental block)
I know this might be a daft question for a V6 engined car but what does it return mileage wise out of a tank door to door and mpg?

As a Combined I get about 28mpg which is pretty good. On motorway drives it does between 32 and 35mpg ish...
