I've had the car advertised for a while now, as i'm sure many regular users of this forum will be aware , but i'm potentially part exchanging the car later this week against a Golf GT TDi at Sheffield Volkswagen, which unfortunately suits my needs better right now. A bit of background on the gearbox:
The gearbox was fully replaced (not reconditioned) with a brand new ZF transmission, including ECU / Mechatronic unit at a Nationally respected transmissions specialists (Martin Lowe Transmissions) in Barnsley in December 2010. I have all receipts and invoices for this work and it is fully warrantied for the next year. Clutches have been upgraded to stronger Kevlar based items. Having driven both the Manual and Automatic S4's i have to say that the Tiptronic box is certainly my preference and compliments the V8 engine perfectly. The paddleshift function still allows for excillerating input from the driver, whilst the box changes seamlessly and is a joy around town in automatic mode. Very similar to driving an RS6 only without the two turbos!
