Thanks for the positive comments,
I love the car and don't really want it to go,
But I do 25k+ miles a year on european motorways so need something younger where the miles won't hurt the value so much,
I know this car would take the mileage in its stride mechanically but nobody would touch it after , even though it is one of the youngest C5s made...
I haven't been in much of a rush to sell but my increasingly hormonal partner is losing patience with me...

tbh, 25k+ a year is gonna destroy any cars value !

even with 150k on the clock this '6 will still be worth something, what £6k ?

So, if you run it for 4 years, put 100k on it, sell it for £6k, its cost you £1.5k a year in depreciation based on what you'll get for it now

Now go and find another car you can put 25k per year on for £1.5k depreciation .... gonna be difficult !!

Its the long game fella

RS 6's are very much depreciation free when your talking about letting it for £13k

Its a compelling argument!

The trouble is not just the depreciation, its the running costs.

My plan had been to keep this car long term - hence the 05 reg - but the car has proved too good and just gets used too much!
While I have no problem forking out for 8 tyres in a year, I cant justify doing so year on year as with another baby on the way my partner feels the money could be better spent...

In a year or so I hope to be back, but in the mean time it is back to the A3 TDi and Smart car,

It doesn't feel half as good behind the wheel of a diesel but it does mean I can do a round trip to Amsterdam without filling up 3 times!

TBH I miss the car already as it spends most of its time sitting on the drive, for fear of someone opening their door in to it if I take it anywhere...

It is a great car and who ever eventually takes it will get a real gem , but there is nothing like a due date to shake up ones priorities, and it is better to have loved a 6 and lost a 6 , than never to have loved a 6 at all.

Any idea why it has RNS-D? I thought they all changed to RNS-E in 2004?
