*Wanted* C6 RS6 late 09 facelift

Post by V10RJ » Fri Nov 06, 2020 8:18 pm

Hi all, thanks for accepting me into the group.

I'm looking for any C6 RS6s preferably facelift cars that I believe are late 09 onwards (with 3G MMI high)

Especially interested in saloons and plus'es

I'm located in Reading but willing to travel for the right car, no category write offs please. Thanks

I have a late model 41k mile C6 Avant that I have owned for 5 years (since it had done 18k miles) that I could be persuaded to sell but it would be strong money.

The car sits in my small collection or around 10 cars and holds the record of the car that I have owned for the longest - ever!

This is my 4th RS6 (I have had over 20 Audis including S2, RS2, B5 RS4 x 3, RS6 [C5 x 2 and C6 x 2], D4 S8 [from new], supercharged R8 etc ) and she was MRC live mapped on the day that I bought her.

Makes 756.9bhp and 1,040nm with secondary cat delete, air filters and engine & gearbox remap.

All depends on your budget.

How much would you be asking for her please?

Offers over £28K to part with her as she was supposed to be a lifelong keeper!

The car is like new and has recently had new Michelin Super Sports, new front discs & pads, coolant pipes replaced as a precaution (over £2,000) and has always been maintained properly.

Like I said, the car was always planned as a keeper and is by far the best C6 that I have seen.

I was asked how much I would be asking (to part with her) - so I answered honestly.

There will never be another estate car built with an engine like that so I will be more than happy to keep her!

Looks a very nice motor NICKH. I've been looking for a decent C6 Avant for a while now. Hopefully it won't take 12 months as it did to find my XKR-S. Available stock of C6's around the low £20k mark are not that great. Did get very interested in a low mileage 2008 at an Arnold Clark garage in Scotland recently but gave up trying to get documents scanned and an actual list of what kit the car had.

Went to inspect a black 58 plate RS6 C6 three weeks ago with one of my sons (service tech with Jaguar Land Rover). Quite possibly the worst condition car I've ever seen on the road that wasn't a recorded insurance write off. On the face it looks OK but every single panel has very poor respray work and the chassis appears to be misaligned. I believe it was sent to auction following our visit and has now turned up again, back on the market. Made a note of the car reg plate so message me if you need that (don't want to put it on an open forum)

Below info: credit to gdavison, Audisrs forum

May 2009 there was the face lift - Spec changed slightly - basically it was the 3G MMI, Price went up again

Audio and Communication
6-disc CD-changer – compatible with .mp3 and .wma files
Audi Music Interface (AMI)
Bluetooth mobile phone connection
BOSE® surround sound
DAB digital Radio
Hard disk-based Satellite Navigation system with TMC functionality and 3D mapping
MMI 3G Multi Media Interface with 7” high-resolution screen

The 2G to 3G differences in easy to understand are ....
2G has a 6.5 Inch TFT Colour Screen 1/4 VGA - 580 * 240 resolution - 3G has a 7 Inch TFT Colour Screen VGA - 800 * 480 resolution
3G has dynamic Radio lists (it lists the radio stations its "seen" lately)
2G plays MP3 from CD only - 3G plays MP3's from CD, SDCard. Also plays DVDs on the screen (when staionary unless you hack it with Vagcom)
Both have Connectivity for MP3 players via USB, iPod interface and Aux Audi (check you have both the USB and iPod Cables in the car)
2G has a max of 160 Directory entries in the telephone list - 3G has 2000. 3G does not need voice training to call (its pretty good at guessing the "name v spoken name" - 2G needed training with voice tags for the telephone directory
2G has 2D and Birds eye mapping for Sat nav. destination entered by spelling the word - 3G has 2D, birdseye, 3D terrain modelling and faster graphics, Destination can be entered by voice commands

An easy visual check is the joystick in the centre knob, other ones is the use of the words "Media" on the 3G and "CD/Aux" on the 2G (beside the Radio button)
