SOLD - 2004 C5 Plus number 150 - £13,995

I've taken a few new pics of the car and revised the price further.
For sale is my 2004 RS6 Plus, number 150. If I recall correctly it is one of c. 77 or so that came to the UK. Being the Plus model it came with a bit of extra oomph (480bhp) plus the larger screened RNS-E media system and various other cosmetic differences. It has done just over 100k miles. Not sure if anything on it was an option, possibly the sunroof.
Cosmetics
The car is in good condition cosmetically. Externally it has a few stone chips and minor nicks here and there which you can’t really avoid with a car this age without a full respray, but is generally in good condition. Similarly the interior – I had the leather reconditioned not long after I bought it and it is holding up well. I also replaced the steering wheel (managed to source an original wheel) and gear knob (with a C6 one) in 2014 so those are also in good condition. The wheels were refurbed last November and look good as new. The car was last fully detailed by DeVille detailing in May.
Mechanics
The car was last serviced in May at Unit 20 and the rear discs and pads replaced. Mechanically all is well, as well as the servicing and brakes, Martin ran a full diagnostics on the car last week (which I have a print out). It has had a couple of modifications since new done by the owner before me – the DRC was replaced with the Bilstein/Hotchkis combo by the owner before me, and it also had an engine and gearbox map at Unit 20.
There are two electrical items that need fixing that they didn’t have the parts for when I was last there – the ‘beeper’ for the parking sensors has died and needs replacing, so the parking sensors won’t operate at the moment. Martin @ Unit 20 says it is a straightforward job just needing a few hours labour. Similarly the drivers side door speaker has also stopped working and needs replacing – again not a difficult job.
History
Ownership history:
• Sold on 1/7/04 on MD04 NDE to an S Bird by Smith Night Fay Audi in Bolton
• Second owner (bought sometime in 2005) was a G Williams of Ormskirk.
• Third owner, bought in November 2006 – J Bates, Brighton
• Fourth owner, bought in Jan 2012 - L Swann, Cambridge – Moved to RS51 XLS
• Fifth owner, bought in June 2013 – Me, just south of Manchester, moved to M500 DNA
Up to 2010 and 70,099 miles it was serviced by Audi dealers in the North West and Brighton. It then had a service at 78,143 miles in 2012 by L Swann at an Audi specialist before starting to be looked after by Unit 20 from 5/4/13 and 80,868 miles onwards, first by L Swann then subsequently by me. In my ownership (from c. 82,000 miles onwards) it has been serviced annually at Unit 20 and had anything fixed on it that has needed doing.
I have a full ring binder of all the receipts for everything that has happened to the car since 2005 – including servicing, repairs, new parts, MOTs etc. In my ownership I have spent the not inconsiderable sum of c. £8700 (gulp!) on servicing, parts and repairs, plus the cost of tyres, detailing, wheel refurbs etc.
Martin was lamenting the increasing rarity of C5s in general when I was there last, he said they are only seeing 1 or 2 a month now whereas a few years ago they several a week in. He thinks they are a future classic and has just had a guy spend £10k with him on getting one mint which he is then planning to put in storage and wait for the appreciation! The Plus model is ultra rare now as anyone who has been looking for one probably knows! I know I waited a while back in 2013 for one to come up for sale and was lucky that one did.
Happy to take further pics on request of anything specific (or I guess video even in this day and age).
Happy to take any questions, I’ve no doubt forgotten something. Martin @ Unit 20 is also happy to comment on the car as he has the full history of what he has done on it since 2012. Fully comp insurance would be required for any test drive please. I am now asking £13,995 for the car.
Cheers
