RS6 Avant, C5, Ebony Black, 549bhp/855nm SOLD

Post by jamrowls » Sat Apr 14, 2018 11:49 am

Audi RS6 2003
Ebony Black with Black Leather and Carbon Fibre Trim
4.2 V8 Twin Turbo
549 bhp and 855 nm (556 PS and 630 lb/ft)
145k miles
MOT until February 2019
Tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1) are @ 5.5mm
4 owners (including me)

I have had this car for just over two years and have driven it as my daily driver covering twenty thousand awesome miles.
Unfortunately a change in circumstances means I have to replace it with something boring.
The original plan was to keep it forever and as such I have spent over £10k on it in the last 2 years, my loss is your gain!
As an example, most recently it failed the MOT on a sticking rear caliper, so after the temp repair to pass the MOT I then replaced both rear calipers with new and got both front calipers refurbished by Brake Caliper Specialists, at a cost of over £700. The sticking rear caliper was the indicator that the calipers could do with some attention, and to bring it back to standard it now has new or as new calipers that are guaranteed for 4 and 3 years respectively. Not just a repair to the rear one but a refresh of them all, that has been my mentality throughout, to give the car what it deserves.

The car is in great condition overall, there are marks and scratches here and there but thats expected on a 15 year old car that has done 145k.
Tons of history, see the photo of the paperwork!
Highlights are below:

Modifications:
Suspension is KW v3 coilovers
Wagner Intercoolers and shrouds
Miltek Stainless Steel CAT back exhaust
Bosch 044 fuel pump
MRC stage 2 custom engine map and gearbox map
Headlights have Morimoto DS2 4.0 upgraded projectors
Brodit and Ram x-grip phone holder (can be removed without damage if not required)
Interior LED bulbs
Private Plate - R5 BLO

Service parts - last event:
Cambelt replaced @ 122k 11/2015
All tyres replaced @134k 02/2017
Spark plugs replaced @ 138k 06/2017
Air filters replaced @ 138k 06/2017
Fuel filter replaced @ 139k 07/2017
Gearbox serviced @ 141k 09/2017
Engine oil serviced @ 141k 09/2017
Brake fluid replaced @ 144k 03/2018
All brake discs skimmed @ 144k 03/2018
All brake pads replaced @ 144k 03/2018

Major Maintenance worth noting:
Gearbox full rebuild @ 120k 08/2014
All wheels refurbished @ 135k 03/2017
Both fuel pumps replaced @ 138k 07/2017
Both headlights refurbished @ 142k 11/2017
Rear brake calipers replaced @ 144k 03/2018
Front brake calipers serviced @ 144k 03/2018

The car is still my daily driver so the mileage will increase.
For a test drive I will need to see proof of insurance cover for it.

Sold (£9300 for reference).

This is a very well maintained car owned by a very nice chap, who would be too modest to admit that he is a talented & meticulous engineer.
Certainly worth considering if you are looking for a good C5 RS6.
Good luck with the sale James, I know you don't really want to let it go.

I’m sure he’s a totally decent guy, but £12k for a C5 with 145k and some issues to see to?!
I think he’s asking too much in my humble opinion.... and that’s from someone who’s still in the market for a half decent estate.

Thanks Ric.

Greg, its not an auction, so the price has to work its way down. Yes I could sell it for £100, but I want to see if I can get more for it first... What do you value it at?

UPDATE to ad:

-It has had over £10k spent on maintenance in my 2 years of ownership, and most of that is parts with my zero cost labour.
-If anyone is looking for an engine for a project, then due to the high value of second hand parts it may get broken - its obviously currently in full working order and as such is available for any test before committing and pulling the engine. The engine is the highest value singe item which is why its a good starting point. Its a shame but the parts are worth more than the car, and I always wanted to take the engine out.

I'd say that's a sensible price. It's had a huge amount of work done to it and a lot of that has been fairly recent. We know the mileage isn't an issue as there are several now way over 150k and still going strong.
I think the new owner could have a very good car with not too much in the way of maintenance for the next couple years.

It would be an awful shame if you parted it.

Quick question, the Morimoto DS2 4.0 upgraded projectors.. why?
Are they better than the audi ones? Was having a look on YouTube & they seem to be a retrofit option.
Is there a significant gain? Just curious :)

RSIan, upgrade is not the word, they are unbelievable!

I just could not have imagined such a difference (same bulbs), they are super bright and perhaps what stands out the most is they are razor sharp.

Definitely an essential upgrade imo.

arthur.d, it sure is and is on target to sell on Wednesday for even less than that

Very sad. It helps that it went to a good home, someone joining the RS6 C5 club for the second time.
