Misano RS6 (C5) (2004) MRC stage 2 205,000 miles

Post by Daveperc » Sat Mar 31, 2018 12:16 pm

Hi guys

OK - it will be a couple of weeks before I get this out on PH, and have time to do a good sales pitch, but I'd love this to go to a good home. Mine since June 2012 (4 previous owners). MOT to Feb 19. Currently on 205,000 and running beautifully

Stage 2 Mapped by MRC at 523BHP, 878Nm (Dyno plot to verify) tuned to take advantage of full torque capacity of uprated box below. Wagner i/cs, gutted pre-cats and Milltek (Res - the quiet one!) exhaust. Last serviced by MRC Jan 18; cambelt done at 170K in Aug 2016.

Uprated gearbox by 517Trans in US fitted at 90K and serviced every 20K since then.

19" wheels (need refurb) with Mich PS4S that have done 10K miles (was 6mm at 200K). 5mm spacers on front (and Ol' Knobbly long gone). Fully working DRC and Hotchkiss ARB's. All suspension checked and any worn bits done by MRC - last checked Jan 18.

Interior: "Hi-tech" seats (drivers is quite worn), Alcantara headlining, Carbon inlay, RS6 mats, RNS-D + X-car link for iPod/phone. (Heated seats currently not working)

Exterior: Solar sunroof; uprated (Morimoto) headlights, HID fogs wired as DRL; "Marks consistent with age/mileage - some scratches/scuffs to rear bumper. Laser Park Pro!

Full service history, with all done at MRC or Audi since 2012.

Also comes with three worn GY Assym 2's that I have kept as emergency spares for punctures etc.

Much loved car - you can read some of its adventures if you search on my posts!

£7,950 to start a conversation - and won't be available till mid-April when I get my hands on my (used) RS6 (C7) - mid life crisis? Need a younger model!!

Image - Ignore the Tesla!!

Great ownership, but very strong price! I think you’ll genuinely struggle to get near two digits

OK - I've dropped the price even further - I so want this car to go to someone who will look after it, rather than just throwing it to the auction or similar!!

I'm only selling because I have my C7 RS6 now, and really can't justify running both!

Can't justify it... but haven't ruled it out?

SOLD - Misano RS6 (C5) (2004) MRC stage 2 205,000 miles

Post by Daveperc » Mon May 07, 2018 3:33 pm

Well she's gone - in more senses than one!

Took her out for a run with the buyer, and something blew - not sure what. Lots of blue smoke from both exhausts and oil in the coolant - plenty! I'm guessing a head gasket, but not sure.

Anyway, they were prepared to take it, albeit at a very reduced price.

Sad to see her go, especially in that way. :boohoo:

On the positive side, looks like my timing on replacement was spot on! :jump_clap:

Wow. That could have been a nasty situation if it had happened when the buyer was on the way home.

I dont want to cause you worry but i am 99% sure you have been scammed. Did you sell it to some eastern europeans? Its a common scam where a couple of them turn up and put a few drops of oil in your coolant and also some antifreeze on your exhaust to make them smoke like a chimney.

They target high mileage cars as they can get away with it. They end up buying it for a much reduced price but as the owner thinks the car is shagged.

Very common scam: check it out on google

Sorry to hear this and shocked this could happen.

do you still have your part of v5?
if so mark it as scrap...
or were they "traders" and left you the yellow slip...?
