Audi B5 S4 Avant 2000 Facelift Silver

Post by brew1988 » Tue Feb 20, 2018 2:39 pm

Completely original OEM Facelift Audi B5 S4 Avant 2.7 Bi-Turbo registered in March 2000, an appreciating modern classic that is rising in value. With only 6 previous owners, a comprehensive stamped full service history and a folder full of invoices this really is one not to be missed.

Excellent specification in Light Silver Metallic (paint code: LY7W) with contrasting sports seats in black leather. It has the BOSE stereo, Xenon headlights, full carbon inlay interior with blue weave, sports steering wheel, electronic stabilisation program, climate control, electric windows and electrically adjustable/heated mirrors. See full detailed build sheet below.

Owned for over 3 years this has been the perfect daily vehicle never letting me down and will keep covering miles for many years to come. No disconcerting noises from engine, turbos, gearbox, clutch or 4WD drivetrain. Currently on 197k miles but with an extensive amount of invoices and service history.

The 2.7 Bi-turbo engine in the B5 S4 is renowned for being extremely durable with the ability to produce circa 500bhp with no internal changes. This example is In standard form and still pulls very strongly through all the gears and provides a blank canvas for anybody wanting to modify it if they so wish. Always ran on Shell V-Power in my ownership and always warmed up appropriately.

Full and extremely extensive service history from new with 20 stamps:

14/11/16 (189,342miles) Audi Specialist long life service
24/11/17 (196,159miles) Audi Specialist long life service

There is a folder full of invoices included with lots of additional work carried out for almost every single service throughout the vehicles history.

Cambelt, water pump and thermostat last replaced at 164,238 miles so not due for another 42k miles.

Differential and gearbox oils replaced at 181,882 miles.

During my ownership the following parts have been changed:

Alternator
Front and rear brake discs and pads
RHF wheel speed sensor
Wheel bearings all round
Rear springs
Rear damper
Propshaft dohnut bearing
Engine inlet rubber boot
Centre LCD dash screen (Fixes common pixelated display)
Tyres all round
Both front CV gators

A huge comprehensive folder of invoices and previous MOT’s come with the vehicle as well as 2 keys, the original leather folders, tool kit, spare wheel/tyre and a 12 month MOT.

The vehicle is currently on a winter wheel and winter tyre setup that is fitted during the colder months but will be sold on the original OEM B5 S4 wheels (As in 2 of the pictures from summer).

Only reason I’m selling is because I’ve just purchased an Audi C5 RS6 Avant, if I could keep them both I would but unfortunately I don’t have the space.

Negative points:

Slight corrosion on the wheel arch
Rear damper audible (Being looked at in MOT on 23rd Feb)
Steering occasionally goes heavy (no leaks and fluid level fine)
High mileage at 197k but with an extensive service history and maintenance regime
Very slight dent on front of bonnet (3cm diameter)
One of the exhaust embellishers not present
Bodywork and interior have some marks which is to be expected on a vehicle of this age

I encourage viewings/inspections please feel free to ask for any further details or pictures, vehicle does not come with a warranty or refund option and will be sold as seen.
It will be MOT’d on Friday 23rd February with any work needed to pass conducted.

£3,500 ono

That front wing is fit for the bin. There is no way you could paint that and keep the rust away. The cambelt interval is five years, so its due now, 2018.

I swear the Avus alloys stick out more than mine! Spacers? Or the wider S6 8" (instead of 7.5") possibly? Correct 225/45 R17 tyres?

If you have paperwork for turbos and / or clutch, definitely include these in your advert! Big plus points! Whilst it is not completely unheard of to be on the original turbos at 200k, it cannot possibly be on the original clutch!

Feel free to take the cost of a new wing and paint into consideration if you are interested - I'm open to offers.

With regards to the timing belt interval I can only find recommended mileage and not years - feel free to take this into consideration if you are interested, I'm open to offers.

The winter wheels have spacers on but the vehicle will be sold on the standard B5 S4 wheels with no spacers and with summer tyres fitted.

As the pictures show there are receipts at almost every service for additional maintenance, some of these greater than £1,000. If your interested I can look through them all to find if the turbos have been replaced and when the clutch has been done?

Seems a perfectly resonable advert to me.. slight corrosion, well yes, the car has done 197k and is priced accordingly at £3500.

Fair price i say considering the history & condition & he has been really open.

& even said “open to offers” so no real need to try to pick him apart.

GLWS.
