Rs6 On ebay, buyer beware

Post by muppetlab » Tue Dec 19, 2017 8:51 pm

Just a note, for anyone looking to buy an rs6, i looked at this car ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-RS6-C6- ... SwP4FaCdMC ) at the weekend having "won" it on ebay. The car was very nice and had had the oil pump replaced in the past and the seller seemed genuine enough until i looked underneath !!! The front subframe and under trays were dripping with oil. The seller said he drove through an oil slick originally which seemed quite inventive and once over the pit it was obvious oil was leaking out. Looked to be passenger side so i suspect oil pump but i walked away at that point having wasted 4 hours of my day to go and pick it up. I said to the seller i was still interested if he got it looked at or fixed and he was going to but i see its back on ebay so just wanted to warn people if they are interested to have a good look and ideally get the trays off to check for oil. He might have sorted it but buyer beware.

Also states minor service at MRC in 2017- no exact date.

However mileage in November 2017 from his picture shows 83567 and was seen at MRC @ 83265 Minor service MRC so not loads of miles done since.

I suspect they identified a potential problem hence why its being sold as is with the brakes shot. If you really cared for a car why not replace the brakes, unless you wanted shot of it as soon as because of a potential big bill around the corner?

at the right price it would be a good project for someone-tug the motor out and fix it...not at anything near the present asking price obviously...

There is another one at the right price because it’s not leaking oil Image and doesn’t need the brakes replacing Image
