Wanted: Road Legal Track Car £3-4k ish

Looking for something cheap and fun, track ready (buckets and cage), and road legal. I'd like to be able to get in it and go straight out on track - no projects.
A clio 172 or 182 would be ideal, but if you have something else that fits the bill, let me know!
I'm based in Surrey.

With something like that, I'd be too worried about it going bang before I get the chance to put it into a barrier myself!

I had one
Was stage 2+ and lots of mods.
Key thing was a LSD which allowed the front wheels to put the power down
Running 270PS in 1,300kg with a bucket load of torque was fun!
I put R888's on it and Recaro Pole Positions and did a 'ring track day in it, 10 laps....was awesome
Also hit 155mph on the Autobahn before I pussied out as it was damp and I was on R888's
They are rare thou, but cheap

RWD FTW. E36 stripped and lightened, roll cage. Friend of mine races one and it's very quick. Cheap parts, too.
I wanted a track day car so I bought the M3. I didn't want a front wheel drive so that limits the choice.

Yep, I'd be happy with an E36 328!
Marc - thinking of selling any of your collection of 328's anytime soon!?

Funny you should mention that, I've been looking for exactly the same thing for the last two months. I just haven't sorted where I'm going to put it yet so have held off. I used to have a Clio 172 and it was spot on to drive.
This one popped up on Gumtree the other day, haven't looked at it case i buy it!

FYI pre facelift E36 328 came with an LSD as standard, post facelift lost the LSD but got the Alusil engine liners.
I enjoyed mine

Oooh, I'm seriously drawn to this!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222443577034
I posted up on the Audi TT forum about the mk1 TT as a track car, and verdict is that it's a heavy understeering dullard - unless you spend thousands stripping it, and upgrading the suspension and geometry. Looks like this car has had most of the work done!
Just needs a haldex insert to make it a predictable 50:50 split and perhaps a few other tweaks - but then this could be good!
Opinions?

I co own the E36 with Marc, I would be happy to sell but Marc has some crazy notions that we are actually going to use it this year.
Get in his ear and I'm sure we can do a deal, it's ready to go.

^ nope! How much did we spend again?!

besides it's usuable on the road.
Faisal, the other one (you should have bough

) was stripped, parts sold and remains went to the car graveyard.
Good cars. Getting harder to find and appreciating.
Think we may still have an LSD for it kicking about somewhere.

That's a good shout.
Got to be worth £3k?
A sorted TT is decent on track. Depends if you want to be chasing GTR's and setting lap records
If you just want cheap fun then that'll tick the box
