Wanted B5 or B7 RS4 Avant

Post by ollys » Fri Dec 16, 2016 6:45 pm

Now seriously looking for either one of these.

Owned a B5 for 4 years so familiar with the issues.

Less familiar with B7 issues but not ignorant.

Must be very well maintained with excellent paintwork with as many of the niggles on each model sorted as possible (enthusiast owners will know what I mean).

Would prefer:

- standard or lightly modified

- any colour except black

- sunroof

- sub 100k miles

- ceramics on the B7.

Willing to travel for the right car and looking to buy in January ideally (cash waiting).

Many thanks
Olly

Not peanuts as I would like a good car and know what the ballpark is on either model as I keep an eye on asking prices here and elsewhere. I'm pretty open to anything that people have and have a budget range in mind which would include the majority of offerings I would imagine.

Im going to be looking for one in the new year also, so can you help me by clarifying by what you mean? And what's considered 'right spec'?

Cheers

Spec is subjective
Colour , you need sprint blue , Daytona or mugello
Buckets
Roof
SS + is nice
There's tech packs , auto wipers etc and heated rears
Ceramics are really nice
Privacy option
Adaptive headlights
Inlays are a personal thing too , I didn't like them in alli until I got them on my current one which has all the above bar the fridge / optics and one other that I can't recollect
Look at DKs vid
There's lots of high mileage stuff about but good low mile stuff is thin on the ground . Red ain't a great colour for em or comfort seats no natter what anyone says , fbsw is a must and there's a few without a fbsw and no sat nav too , early cars (56 ) had orange indicators etc ... 07 is the better one to get if poss with as many of the extras

Nice one, thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to pen this reply

Is 07 considered facelift? And why is black not considered as nice (appreciate it might be your opinion)
I've read that a carbon fbsw was also an option but never seen one...

It's a personal thing on black , it's a <beep> to keep clean and after having one in black ... never again
As with most cars an bad one is a very bruising experience cost rise and they do take some pulling round and you always get someone giving it large they only paid X then a few weeks / months later the jobs/ problems start cropping up that do cost
Dunno about the carbon wheel but I've got the original order manuals etc for mine and the spec was over £60k
07 is a facelift of sorts where some options got absorbed iirc and slight tweaks etc
