SOLD - 2007 Phantom Black RS4 Saloon

Post by toyneg » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:48 pm

Hi All

I honestly thought I would never see the day I write this advert but I am just doing too many miles these days to really appreciate the car and I need to be sensible and get on the property ladder so I feel the time is now right to see about parting ways. It is a well known and well looked after forum car, I have owned it since Sept 12 and members that have seen it at the various meets i have attended should be able to vouch for it. It seriously is a head turner of a car, and I have lost count of the amount of comments and praise I have had for the way it looks and sounds over the years.
In my opinion these cars are meant to be driven, that is how you keep them in good shape, just ask Doug at MRC :) This car has not disappointed at all and has been bullet proof, literally apart from wear and tear items the only issue I have had is having to get the oil cooler replaced a couple of years back. I always run it on VPower and for the past couple of services I have got it maintained by MRC as in my eyes they are more reputable with these cars than Audi themselves.
I am not in any hurry to sell but I am keen to see if there is any interest, I would be looking for £15k but open to sensible offers. currently it is only listed on here, I would like it to go to another enthusiast so I will just keep it on here for the time being.

Carbon Interior Trim
127k
Racing Cloth Recaro Bucket seats / Electric Seats with lumber support - there is wear to the driver side bolster as to be expected but nothing too major.

Auto dimming rear view mirror
Coolbox in glove box
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel

Bi-Xenon Adaptive Headlights with washers
Michelin Pilot Supersports all round with good tread left

As well as the above I have also done the following mods which in my opinion improve the car massively:
MRC Stage 2 remap
10mm rear spacers
wheels done in gun metal (could do with a refurb)
Milltek non res, non valved cat back exhaust
Gutted Precats
KW Adjustable springs (keeping the DRC) - this lowers the car and gives it a much better stance as well as improved handling
rear tints

I hope I havent missed anything, please feel free to message me with any questions.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I've had to stick it on autotrader as I haven't had any interest. It's prob the mileage putting people off a bit.

do you think I am over priced or do you think it is just a case of waiting for someone that can see past just the mileage of a car as interest is scarce? I am pretty sure if someone test drove mine over a boggo one with less miles they would see how good mine is :)

Unfortunately it's this.

Also the higher mileage cars tend to sell better in the midlands/north rather than on the south coast, so might be worth mentioning that you're happy to collect interested buyers from Southampton Airport. Just have to be patient really Graham.

Like you say though, all it requires is someone through the door and the car will then do the rest for you

Mileage is a point I'm looking at and the seats not being full leather,I don't know enough on these motors to know if 127k is too much or not (I'm looking to buy one)

Mileage is no problem. Many performance Audi's have well over 200k on them and handle it well (some being very highly tuned). Most modern engines can go several 100k miles.

The whole 100k stigma is well out of date! I've seen E46 M3's with over 200k on them and I would expect that motor is more highly strung than the V8, and again no issues.

I've said this before but do you think our European friends have the same 100km stigma (62k miles)? Or 161km (100k miles)? Doesn't really have the same ring to it...

Graham sit it out, it's clearly a great car. Mileage is no issue to an enthusiast. Maintenance and condition are key. The seats are great. As another member mentioned recently, they don't sag the same as full leather. It was the same with the B5 RS4's and the 'hi-tech' half cloth, half leather became a more desirable in the long run.

I sold my similar phantom black saloon with over 100k miles on it for close to and in fact slightly more than you are asking. It sold in three days, but equally could have been three months. You just need the right buyer at the right time.

It's holiday season at the moment, so may have an impact. As may the whole post Brexit saga, etc.

I would recommend anyone interested in looking for an RS4, look at the ownership, maintenance records and condition of the car. After that consider, colour, spec and mileage.

A car that is used regularly is generally going to have less niggly problems. If it's been well cared for the wear and tear items will have been sorted as and when. All older cars will have them, they are just going to arrive at different times.
