Sadly it's a space issue that's forcing me to sell, nowt else. Its used mainly for visiting outlaws etc which involves a fully loaded long trip. It's a tight squeeze with a dog, buggy, bags etc along with one child seat, so two is going to be impossible.

I've tried to justify a C7 RS6, however having had a C7 (albeit a 3.0 Derv) before the B8, I know it won't give me that much more space. So the preferred solution at the mo' seems to be a new Q7 (they are ridiculously cavernous inside!) and a 2nd toy for the weekends. The SQ7 would be a good mix for both, but that's been delayed along with the other S/RS models (S4 being one).

I looked at an SVR, but it's smaller than the Q7 and residually it's frightening! I could just stand in the street burning wads of £50 notes, that would probably be cheaper than the SVR!

I guess a cayenne turbo is too small?

Yup. I would have gone for a GTS, but the Cayenne is the smallest of all the 'large' SUVs. Even smaller than the X5. It's only really the new Q7 and new XC90 that are big enough and won't need a second mortgage to own/run. The new X5 is then the next biggest but the boot is 10-20cm narrower than the above two.

The humungous boot of the Q7...

The boot on the q7 does look massive, couldn't stomach the looks of the x5
Audi looks like your best bet!! What engines are on offer? Guess it's a 3.0 TDI most will go for

Engine wise the UK only get the 3.0 derv in either 218 or 272ps guises. The EU get the 3.0 333ps petrol that's in the S4, but apparently that's not coming here. The only other option will be the V8 derv in the SQ7, but there's no word on timings.

Ha, if only it were that simple. :thumb:

Thanks. I've tried to be fair. P/X value is coming in at c£42k, the lowest forecourt price for a low mileage good spec 2015 car is c£48k, so I've priced it somewhere in the middle.

Off to get a 272 Q7 today for an extended test-drive and size test. Will let you know how it goes.

Won't a roof box solve the problem?

The boot on the Q7 is 20cm wider and longer. Also due to the Q7s extra width it has the ability to have two car seats in the back and an adult travel in the back with them in comfort.

I get the 7 seats, but that chews into boot space. Overall capacity is not that much different. If you can get four up plus camping gear in an A6......

It's not the 7 seats I need, they will be folded flat.

It's the ability to have two car seats and a fully grown adult in the rear bench that counts. Plus the much bigger boot.

I had a C7 before the B8 and I can confidently tell you the difference between the two is huge.
