SOLD - Black C5 RS6 MRC stage 3 spec and tune

Post by bam_bam » Tue Dec 15, 2015 3:58 pm

SOLD PENDING PAYMENT.

C5 RS6 saloon for re-homing, suitable to enthusiast.

So this car is a bit of a forum stalwart and I’d much prefer this car to stay on the forum. However, I have a mate who’s adamant he’s wanted this car since I got it but he hasn’t pulled his finger out yet. I actually think he’d not have the ‘appetite’ to run this car and he has NFI when it comes to cars. With this in mind, I thought I’d put the offer out to our lovely RS246 community in the hope that one of youseall would want it.

I’ve owned this car since late 2009, it was one of the many cars that DK has owned over the years. I ran the car for the better part of 2yrs with a stage 1.5 until the need for more power collided with the TC and gearbox lunching itself.
I decided on going to a stage 3 engine spec with MRC while I went about getting the gearbox rebuilt and upgraded accordingly. The gearbox rebuild was handled by a ZF UK authorised partner, Sussex Auto Transmissions. While that was happening I sourced a replacement TC, settling for an A.C.E. torque converter. This TC was built up at A.C.E. in the USA and featured a standard stall speed but rated to handle 750ft lbs. When the car was all back together I wasn’t entirely happy with my gearbox ‘solution’, so I sent a spare valve body to 517 Trans in the USA and they rebuilt the VB to provide increased line pressure and reduced the operating tolerances for quicker shifting etc. Not that I cared about that, I just wanted to a solid transmission for the car and that’s I got, I finally stopped worrying about the ‘box and it’s been fantastic ever since, even with 630Ft lbs banging through it.

After the car completed a run-in with the new manifolds and turbos, it was tuned by MRC and made 605PS 846Nm. The car has covered 25,000 miles since the upgrades and gearbox rebuild, the trans fluid, filter and pickup tray have been changed 3 times during this period without any noticeable swarf or fluid discolouration.

The reason for sale; it’s just not getting used at all and I’ve got baby_bam_V2.0 arriving in the next week so I’m trying to get a lot loose ends tied up. I’ve also owned another RS6 that’s an avant and a fair bit more powerful, so I think I’ve got the family car thing covered. The car has only cleared about 800 miles in the last 18months as I am always using my other RS6. Also, I’m not a very personable human being, thus, I hate the great unwashed. This fills me with a very distinct feeling that I may actually kill one of the general car buying public arriving to look at the car. I could put it into the trade but I like those scumbags even less than I like the general public, also, I feel the car would just end up at a breakers. So, it’s either sold on here or it goes to my mate, who’s only ever owned brand-new cars and should be shot for saying the Mazda 6 is the Japanese M3 touring (yes, I made him aware there is no M3 touring).

The specs:

Black C5 RS6 saloon
Silver leather and silver alcantara headlining
Alu interior trims
RNS-D with a 2007 disc
Tilt and Slide sunroof (NOT SOLAR)

The modifications:

Bilstein B16 PPS9s
C6 RS6 390mm cross-drilled brake discs
Phaeton brake ducts
C6 RS6 6pot callipers
Braided lines
Hotchkis ARBs

MRC filters
Custom 70/60mm intakes
Wagner intercoolers and hoses (retaining OEM fog lights)
Stage 3 hybrid turbos
Custom tubular manifolds
Bosh 044 HPFP
Milltek ‘race’ downpipes (currently with an OEM CATback which sounds surprisingly awesome)
Plus spec hot weather radiators
TCU map with raised rev limit and lower RPM TC lock up
Stg III ECU map by Mihnea Cotet
A.C.E torque converter
517 Trans uprated valvebody

The other bits:

There’s been a scuff around the rear OS bumper with some white paint transfer, I’m not sure when this happened as I only noticed it last time I washed it - cnuts.
The car could do with a good detail, the last one was some years ago and the paint needs TLC.
Some interior trim buttons are a little worn but nothing major, leather is in top nick, always used liquid leather.
It’ll need some brake pads within the next 1000miles, brake pad warning came on the other day.
RNS-D has stopped powering on, probably some connections at the rear of the unit. I’ve seen it come on intermittently but I’ve not got the time to investigate further.
PS2 tyres are pretty tired (see what I did there?), they’ll need replacing very soon.
Two wheels will require a refurb (rule 41).
The TPMS have gone flat.
Cam belt done MRC 2012 at 105,000miles.
The rear parking sensors sometimes brain fart all over the place but still work fine.
MOT due 31/01/2016.
5 owners.
It’s currently on 126,000 miles – not raising.

In light of the crap that needs to get done I’ll take £5,750 – I’d like it gone to a good home or it’ll probably end up staying for another year, unused. No doubt Bookfather will be along soon, offering book, thanks in advance, Book, but book off.
This might go up for sale on another forum but it won’t be going up on Pheads or Atrader. It’s possible my mate will extract his digit by next week so this might not be up here for very long and thus disappear at any time. PM me with questions or just dump your opinions in this thread. I’ll get some new photos up soon. The car is in North London innit.

Great looking car with solid history and a lot of money spent on her.

If you were to go on PH or AT, defo put the line about not being very personable, it would sort the men from the boys! And would probably provide a few good tales for this forum...

Good luck with pending sale and pending birth fella.

It took longer to write the ad than sell it.

I've written this ad about a dozen times in the last two years. It's a fantastic car and it'll be missed but it's not being used.

 @ book man. End of an era, Bread van won you over in the end.

It will be a people carrier next though, if you're not careful.

To be fair, I've had the breadvan for over two years now. Still, I was driving about in the 'loon this morning and it's such a lovely thing to park up and look at. Beats the avant for looks, every time, hands down.

That is cheap! Bloody hell someone's got a right bargain there!

Anyway, what would stretch do with it? Surely he hasn't got room in his drive for another RS!
I used to own a 6, now I'm just a lurker!
