Low mileage black B7 RS4 saloon SOLD

I spent ages searching for an RS4 with low miles and the right spec, but after just 16 months of Audi ownership, it is now for sale as I am not using it enough to justify keeping it.

The car is a 2007 07 plate B7 RS4 saloon in blackest Phantom Black.

It has 43,000 miles on the clock, with full service history. I am the third owner. The MOT runs until 12th Jun 2015.

The car has mostly been used at weekends only. It has always been warmed-up and cooled-down properly. I have a track car I take out when the mood takes me, so I have never abused the RS4. It has only covered (at the time of writing) about 1300 miles since major engine work (see below), after which it had a proper shakedown in driving from my home on the south coast to Holyhead, then spent five days touring around Ireland, before returning home. It ran faultlessly all the way, and I enjoyed it so much I did not let my partner share the driving at all. I had decided to sell it before the engine work, but this holiday almost convinced me to keep the car.

Both keys are present, and working. Car will come with a folder with every invoice from my ownership, plus some from previous owners.

History:
Owners
• Apr 2007: First registered
• Jul 2010: Second owner
• Jun 2013: Bought by myself (35,995 miles).
Servicing & Repairs
• 20th Apr 2007: LongLife service by Wimbledon Audi.
• 30th Oct 2008: LongLife service by Walton Audi (14,499 miles).
• 18th Mar 2010: LongLife service by Walton Audi (26,215 miles), included brake fluid and pollen filter.
• 28th Apr 2010: Oil change service by Basingstoke Audi, I imagine this was done prior to re-sale.
• Jun 2010: DRC checked by Basingstoke. Both front shock absorbers replaced, valve and pump confirmed OK.
• 12th May 2011: Oil change and inspection service by Reading Audi (30,781 miles).
• 19th Jun 2013: LongLife service by Walton Audi (36,044 miles).
• 9th Jun 2014: LongLife service by JKM Motor Services http://www.jkm.org.uk/ (41,107 miles). Pipercross air filter fitted in standard airbox.
• 8th Oct 2014: Engine stripped and rebuilt by JKM Motor Services following oil cooler pipe failure. Work included inspection of big end and main bearings (all good); honing of cylinder head and cam carrier bearing faces to bring within tolerance; decoke; rebuilt using all new genuine bolts and gaskets; bank 1 exhaust camshaft, all eight bank 1 exhaust valves, cylinder 2 rocker arms and lifters all replaced with new genuine Audi parts; both cylinder heads fully reconditioned; all bank 1 pistons dressed; replaced all timing chain tensioners and bank 1 exhaust cam adjuster; new oil cooler and pipes. New oil and filter (obviously). All new, genuine Audi parts were used. Jim at JKM took loads of pictures during the rebuild, which I can provide to a prospective buyer to show that this engine has been rebuilt properly by a well-known VAG specialist.
Whilst the engine was out, the clutch and flywheel were replaced, again with genuine Audi parts.
Front brake discs replaced with VW Phaeton W12 items, machined to add grooves. Pagid brake pads.
Parts alone for this work came to nearly £5k. Needless to say, I wish I had replaced the oil cooler and pipes prior to failure, but the engine rebuild means that the condition of this engine is now a known quantity. My pain is the new owner’s gain!

Exterior:
Options
• Black optic pack (radiator grille surround and window trims)
• Black exhaust tips. Exhaust valves both operate as they should.
• Adaptive Xenon headlights
• Parking Distance Control (front & rear sensors)
Modifications
• A4 DTM carbon fibre front splitter
• Black grille and boot badges
• Grille and boot RS4 badges removed and replaced with small “quattro” badges in black and red
Image

• Gunmetal wheels with, plus two spares wheels which have also been powder-coated in the same colour (VW LA7Y). The wheels were all refurbed by Wheel Works in Crawley http://www.wheelworksuk.co.uk/ in Oct 2013 and are still pretty much unmarked. Fitted to the car are 4x nearly new (~1,000 miles) Kumho Ecsta tyres, and the spares have Pirelli P-Zero Rossos with about 4mm tread
• All six wheels have working TPMS sensors, I think I have replaced five of the six, so those should be good for 5-6 years before they need replacing again. The TPMS valve bodies have been black wrapped (using heatshrink sleeving) so they do not show as silver against the gunmetal wheels.
• Privacy glass on the rear and rear side windows in Medium tint, applied by South Coast Tints in Southampton http://sctints.co.uk/
• Carbon wrapped centre caps with black outer ring and badges. I also have a set of four standard (grey/chrome) centre caps.
• Door mirrors were removed, stripped and sprayed Phantom Black by Dukes Motors in Bognor Regis http://www.dukes-motors.co.uk/
• LED number plate lights from Kufatec. These are decent quality LED lights, with an adaptor loom so they do not cause the bulb failure warning on the dashboard.

Interior:
Options
• Leather Recaro bucket seats, heated front and rear. Being a low mileage car, these seats are in fantastic condition. The rears look as if they have hardly been used. Front seat bolsters inflate as they should when the Sport button is activated.
Image

Image

• Carbon fibre dash and door panels
• Flat bottom steering wheel
Image

• Front centre arm rest
• SatNav
• 6 CD changer
• Bose speakers
• TV tuner
• Switchable DRLs.
Modifications
• LED interior lights including puddle lights
• SEAT Sport carbon fibre & aluminium gearknob. This can be seen in the picture above. It is better weighted and a little shorter than the standard RS4 gearknob, so it is much nicer to use. It is also aesthetically a really good match for the carbon dash panels and aluminium-look trim on the steering wheel, compared to the standard gearknob which I found nasty and plasticky.

Suspension:
• Sports suspension +

Bad Points:
• A few stone chips on the front. No more than you would expect for a car of this age.
• Windscreen has a couple of visible chips. They have been repaired by AA AutoWindshields so they should not spread, and they are not in a position on the screen that I find distracting, nor are they an MOT failure.

£21,950 ovno

My number plate is not included.

I am located in Bognor Regis. Please contact me via PM on here, via email on xxxxxxxxx@btinternet.com or on O7885 xxxxxx. If you want to see more pictures of specific features, just let me know and I will try to take some. I cannot send all of the engine rebuild pictures, as there are too many, but I am sure that Jim at JKM will be happy to confirm the engine’s fine fettle.

The only part-ex I would be interested in is a SEAT Mk2 Leon Cupra or Cupra R, with cash my way. The Leon MUST be Kiwi, and of similar or lower mileage compared to the RS4.

Thanks. The RS4 is the best car I have owned. I will be happy if it takes a while to sell :)

I have edited the first post to include answers to some of the questions I am being asked, specifically:
  • I have both keys and they both work. I put new batteries in both of them about three weeks ago.
There is a folder full of invoices, including the one for the recent engine rebuild and clutch.
The chips in the windscreen are not an MOT failure, they are too small. I only mentioned them because I don't want a prospective buyer to find anything to be disappointed about when viewing the car.

Original number plate now back on the car.

I found this photo, which is one of my favourites (when my personal plate was still on it)

I am prepared to shift a little on the price. So far I have had a couple of offers sight unseen which are close to my minimum price. My photography skills do not do it justice, but if you are interested come and have a look and you will see why it is priced as it is.

Thank you for that. JKM are well-known 'down south', but I am not aware they have a very high profile nationally so hopefully your post provides some reassurance to those who may not have dealt with them before.

My RS4 is only advertised here and on SEATCupra.net currently, but it will be going on Pistonheads in Jan.

Quick bump, in lieu of getting it advertised anywhere else.
