RS4 B7 AVANT 2007/57 !Gone but not Forgotten!

Post by mikouk » Wed Apr 17, 2013 11:09 am

The time has come, unfortunately, for me to sell my RS4. It's easily been the best car I've ever driven, let alone owned.

I've kept it in great condition and it had obviously led a pampered life before me too. It's on the last plate of this model being 2007/57.
It's done 60,000 miles.
FASH + it was serviced last week and the front disks and pads were replaced on the 29/01/13. So nothing to do till the next service.

I'm looking for £20,490 ono REDUCED AGAIN!!!!

I have listed the spec, photo's and useful info below. I have tried to be as honest as I can but if there is anything I've missed or you would like to see more photo's please don't hesitate to pm me.

Thanks, Mark

Spec & info

Audi RS4 B7 AVANT registered 01/09/2007 so 57 plate
3 owners inc myself
59,800 miles
Tracker (Which is activated till December)
Completely un-modified in any way
Black with black optics including tailpipes
Black leather interior
Comfort/Sport seats
Multi Function Steering Wheel
Full DVD Sat Nav with inbuilt bluetooth - There is also a cradle in the arm rest
DRL's
Heated front and rear seats
Full electric seats with lumber support etc
Tinted rear windows
Sport button on dash
Adaptive xenon's with headlight wash
6 x cd changer
Bose sound system
Load cover and net guard
Boot liner
RS4 mats

Engine
The engine has only done 5,000 miles as it was replaced at 55,000 miles along with the clutch and catalyst converters. This work was carried out by Audi and has a two year warranty to back it up. This runs out next March 2014. This covers the engine, clutch and catalyst converters. So this is obviously a huge bonus as the engine will not be suffering from any coke issues and the clutch hopefully has plenty of life left. I have a signed letter from Audi to prove the warranty and all the receipts to show the work done.

DRC
From the paper work I have it shows the car has had two new left shock absorbers renewed and two right ones too, therefore there should be no risk of any leaking issues at all.

Service History.
The car has full Audi service history. The Audi dealership that carried out the first three years of servicing has gone out of business taking their records with it but I have a letter from Whetstone Audi stating that all servicing was carried out in accordance to the schedule. I have a duplicate service schedule book showing the servicing since.

I had the car serviced last week at Southampton Audi. I also had the air con re-gassed and the brake fluid changed.

Brakes
I had the front disks and pads done at the end of January which cost over £1000.

Wheels
on the 27/03/2012 all four wheels were refurbished by Audi at a cost of £280. They are still in mint condition except for one chip on the passenger rear wheel. Very small. No kerbing whatsoever.

Bad bits
The usual stone chips to the front but very few considering mileage.
The leather is marked in two places on the rear passenger side seat. This is where I once put the child isofix base in and it's indented on the leather. No rips and I've included photo's of both marks plus a penny for scale.
Slight scratching on the airbag cover on the steering wheel
Dust has got inside the instrument plastic in the corners. Can be seen in photo's.

Hi guys. Thanks Birdih, remember I'm open to offers! ;-)

Jonicox - I'm afraid I don't know exactly what the problem was but I do have a letter from Audi stating it was through no fault of the driver. The entire engine has been replaced so whatever went can in no way still be a risk as everything involved has been replaced. I will try contacting the dealer who did the work though and do some digging. I had it serviced last week at Southampton Audi so you could always contact them and ask how the car is. Then you know it's not just me BS-ing. Personally when I bought the car I saw it as a massive bonus but I can see why people maybe concerned.

Hope that helps. Don't hesitate to contact me for more info though.
Thanks, Mark

Hi guys. I'm not having a lot of interest yet. Am I asking too much? Or the lack of bucket seats? Or am I just being impatient?

Cheers

It's a difficult market mate so patience is key; that being said I think you've priced it on the high side. I sold mine with a similar spec (different wheels, silver leather & ttrs steering wheel) about 6 mths ago for your asking price. Mine had 10k less miles, defo better condition interior & prob better exterior.

I know prices have dipped a fair bit since last year so Id think about reappraising your ad price downwards to attract some interest. My 2p's

Seats and steering aren't the preferred choice and make a big difference as does paint colour and interior colour.Black is a strong seller but most want buckets and Rs4 steering wheel.Price is right for a 57 plate but your going to have to wait for one of the minority buyers who like normal seats etc

Seats and wheel are the main "issues" IMO. And the engine replacement will be a marmite one.

I'd personally be expecting a price nearer 21k for the spec you have and expecting to negotiate. Black cars, whilst a good sale colour, seem to be in regular supply so you need to make yours stand out and that will mean price wise.

Note also that as far as I'm aware "seen to" DRC is no guarantee that the system will not need work in future.

(I looked at numerous cars in Jan. Bought one for less than your asking price, but admittedly 10k more miles).

Audi approved used for £21600, with a year's warranty (or is it 2?). OK, not a guarantee of how the car has been looked after, but if it blows up (in warranty) you have some comeback. So I guess to an extent you are competing against that. Albeit no 2 cars are the same, different years / mileage etc.

Ok guys I've taken on what you've said and I've reduced the price to £21,490. I think this is now a great price considering the age and condition of the car.

Thanks again

Hi guys

I've had a bit of interest but still no buyers. I've also found a car I'd like to buy so I'm lowering the price again. It's now £20490. Surely thats a good price isn't it?

Cheers

Mark,

I'm not an expert but I'm doing my research as I'll be looking to buy later this year - I think you've probably priced the car about right.

The general enthusiast point mentioned on here seems to be you must have bucket seats and the FBSW. Before I joined this forum, I wouldn't have known that, so it might be worth putting an advert somewhere else where you might find less informed or less enthusiastic buyers who might not be so prejudiced against these more vanilla options.

It looks like a good car, and I'd have thought £20k was about right though, so glws.

Richard.
