FON.
Avants are hard to come by at present, best of luck. Also, ensure you check the insurance, an avant is considerably more to insure over the 'loon...

Thanks All.
Travelling can be done(probably more worthwhile from here than auto trader etc?!)
Going to check out the avant insurance, had a quote of £670 on the saloon which didn't seem too bad.
As far as budget, that's a good question higher than 20k but not as high as the blue one that's been up for a good while at 30k in Scotland!

Just did two quotes, picked number plates out of classified ads. I'm under 30, living in London with my wife as a named driver.
56 Saloon: £1,396.43
57 Avant: £1,315.46
Who was saying the Avants are pricier? Maybe I just got lucky?

That's strange, I looked at it and the avant was close to 600quid more than the 'loon. 3yrs NC, 35yrs old, company director legal services, central London, girlfriend named driver 6yrs NC. The convertible was cheaper again...

Struggle to see that unless you've got your 50 year old dads 7 year NCB applied and you live in the middle of nowhere.
To be fair London is and always will be expensive insurance wise. My first car was a 1.6 golf and it cost me £1800 a year.
My 62 plate A6 3.0TDI Quattro Avant is £1900. Surprised the RS4 was so low for me.

You'll only find out how good your insurer actually is when you try to make a claim?

Richard it doesnt count if you add your employment status in your quote form as 'priest'
21 ?? you would be lucky to get a quote matey, most policies will set age limit at 25 on ins group 20's

so you should check your details again
