I’m parting ways with my RS4. It’s only covered 2300 miles between MOT’s, meaning it’s just not getting the use it deserves and it’s a lot of money to have tied up in a car that’s sat idle.
Here’s a quick spec with more detailed reading below:

When buying I looked at 8 in total and settled on this one. At the time it had more miles than I was originally looking for but my head was turned by its condition, service history and the fact it has had an enormous amount regularly spent on it in all the important areas to remedy common age related issues by a variety of real enthusiast owners (last 4 owners all RS246 members). I’ve got a thick folder of receipts totalling £35,000+
Last service at MRC in December 2020 @96,215 miles. Next service due December 2022 (long life service intervals). Clean MOT’s with no advisories in both Dec 2020 & Dec 2021.
The car had an OEM clutch replacement at 70,000 miles. It feels super tight.
Last carbon clean at 70k. Car was still producing 404ps at 90,000 miles (MRC dyno printouts to hand)
The DRC has been replaced with KW V3’s @80,000 miles, giving full adjustability to both ride height and dampening. The suspension has been professional set up by a company called centre gravity for ‘fast B roads’ and the handling is spot on. Car sits lower than standard to imitate the RS4 SS+ ride height. Having owned an RS4 on stock DRC and on KW V3’s, I’m in a good position to say that the v3’s are very impressive. A stiffer ride for sure, but she feels very tight when you throw her into the corners and is a pleasure to drive.
Full valveless miltek including sports cats (installed by MRC) with black exhaust tips. As you can imagine it sounds absolutely ferocious. I read someone somewhere describe this setup as ‘like the devil gargling nails’, which is about right. Childishly I drive most places come rain or shine with the windows cracked open to let the noise in! Cold starts have been mapped out by MRC, so it’s not too gregarious on start up, which will please the neighbours. Stage II map by MRC also. Throttle response in sport mode is night and day.
Car had a full paint correction at KDS (see pics) in 2018 along with bumper, bonnet and front wings respray at a cost of £2800, and is still stunning as a result. No corrosion or bubbling around the arches which is common for RS4’s at this age. A few minor chips have reappeared on the front, but this is to be expected after 3 years of ‘spirited’ driving.
All internal and external lights replaced with TRUPS (EM TUNING) LED’s, including DRLS. Main beam headlights upgraded and overhauled with Morimoto bi-xenons and new lenses which give fantastic and crisp vision at night.
Car comes with 2 x full sets of tyres on genuine alloys. Michelin pilot sport 4’s on stock silver wheels, with approx 5mm all round. Winter tyres (Nokian WR R3) on a set of anthracite wheels with 8mm tread on all corners.
In the interests of total transparency, a few very minor niggles:
- a small chip in the windscreen, which has been there since 2015. Not in eye line so no problems regarding the MOT. Not worth fixing IMO.
- Despite new front discs and pads, the warning light is still on for the pads. I assume a loose connection in the wheel well, but I’ve not looked for it tbh.
- As a result of all the lights beings replaced with LED’s, the car occasionally throws up a ‘headlight bulb out’ warning, despite it being fine. I believe this is to do with the EM Tuning DRL V1 LED kit and I understand this issue has been resolved with the V2 kit. V2 kit is £65 FYI.
Fortunately I am not financially tied to this car so will wait to sell at the right price.
I may however consider splitting the sale to not include the winter wheels.
Car located just outside Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
£22,550
Thanks.
